how they arrived at your stable || (narrative perspective story ~ 234 words )
The trailer rattled as it was pulled up the gravel track in the stableyard. Inside the beautiful bay mare was bracing herself against the side, when suddenly they jolted to a stop. After significant murmuring and shuffling outside, the tailgate came down and a woman appeared at the open gap. She walked up and gently stroked the mare's pretty face as she untied and unbolted everything, before finally leading the shaky-legged mare down the ramp and into the bright sunshine. The mare looked around wide-eyed and slightly apprehensive, but, once she realised there was no danger in the easy-going yard, she shook out her tense muscles and tried to dislodge her rug, which had been cosy during the trip, but was way too warm in the blaring sunshine. The kind woman lifted off her rug saying, "Is that better now, girl?". Ruby, as her name was to be, chuffed her appreciation and nuzzled her new owner. "You're not a shy one then, are you!" the woman laughed as she took hold of the halter rope and led the beautiful crossbreed towards her awaiting stall. Ruby suddenly sped up and trotted on ahead, almost dragging the lady, as she had caught a whiff of alfafa hay and new wood-shaving bedding, and though fidgety after the ride, was looking forward to a comfy place to lie down for a bit and eat some good old hay.

how they arrived at your stable || (250 words max) Hope was rescued from an abandoned farm, and no one could get her calm but me. She's been here ever since and is now an extremely loyal girl.

Arrival Story || I walked into the auction house, dodging other buyers and horses, twisting through gates and pens in a sad attempt to get towards the back wall. A new group of sellers were supposed to have set up some extra stables towards the south end of the hall, or so I had been told. They had the most beautiful thoroughbloods anyone had ever seen, and I was ecstatic to get my hands on one. As I approached the far corner, I saw their dinky little stands and sighed. It had been too good to be true. A few scraggly looking geldings were held in a tiny round pen, and their bored looking sellers sat with their back to the gate, open bottles in their hands. Suddenly I herd a pitiful whinny, and looked over to see a gorgeous mare in a larger pen, her bright purple tinted eyes glaring at me. I smiled and approached her, nuzzling her soft velvety muzzle. One of the auctioneers stumbled over to me, and after a very incomprehensible conversation I was leading my new girl out off the grounds and into my trailer, all ready to go to her new home.
