Relationship wrote:Conley & Clyde could never be more different, and yet they are the closest of friends. It is said that opposites attract, but how could these two boys ever have met? Well, that's where it gets more interesting. You see, Conley and Clyde went to school together but never truly spoke. Conley often had a small group of friends while Clyde was much more to himself and didn't talk much, but they both walked to and from school together on the same route and had houses near each other.
In a multitude of events, an alert was sent out to parents that a series of kidnappings had been reported and there was a description of a suspicious car. Conley & Clyde's parents spoke to one another and the boys were to walk to and from school together every day and keep an eye out. So they did just that, but still didn't seem to talk much. In the next week, they slowly got to know each other just a little.
One day, the car appeared. At first neither boy noticed it, but it followed behind them while keeping its distance, and they began to get frightened. The car came to a stop and a man got out. He walked right up to them and began to speak with them. He offered them a ride home. Clyde yanked on Conley and the two took off, fleeing into the nearby woods. The man gave chase, clomping through the trees after them. They raced away in terror, Conley pulling Clyde towards a tree and shoving him up it. The two sat in utter silence, not moving. The man stopped in the area, walking directly below the tree and once even stopping to rest against it.
He called to the boys, apologizing for scaring them and trying to get them to come out. Soon enough he walked back in the direction he came. Clyde and Conley sat in that tree for an hour, not daring to come down and risk the man still being there. They were pressed against each other, close and breathing quietly. When they finally got down, they snuck back to the sidewalk and the car was gone. They raced home, where their parents were waiting anxiously. The two told their story and were met tearfully. They just shared looks.
From then on, Clyde and Conley clicked. They conversed constantly, Conley easing Clyde out of his shell. Clyde and Conley started sitting at the same table, all on their own. After their shared experience, how could they not feel a connection? They were forever joined, having a bond that no one else could share. So yes, the two are quite close. Best of friends. They are friendly and playful with each other. The boys bring out the best in one another.
Personalities wrote:Conley - Conley is a very out-going plumie but can sometimes be too adventurous. He can easily wander off and explore new places and sometimes gets lost. Even though he is a keen explorer, his sense of direction is terrible! Running off to see new things can often end up in many hours wasted trying to find his way back.
Conley is extremely caring and always makes sure that Clyde is okay, even if he gets too carried away with his exploring. He understands that sometimes Clyde can be shy and nervous sometimes and Conley does his best to try encourage Clyde to be more confident.
Even though he loves nature, he does have one fear, and that is owls. Strange right? But he hates their massive yellow beady eyes, how they look like they are staring at. But obviously he doesn’t see them that often because they are nocturnal.
Another reason he doesn’t like them is because of the noise that they make. It sounds so spooky to him, reminding him of Halloween in the dead of night, even though it is his favourite holiday. Whenever he hears their ‘twit-twoo’ he instantly freezes, and his pupils shrink. He will sometimes stand like this for a while and wait until someone reassures him of shakes him and tells him that it’s okay.
Clyde - Clyde is much different compared to Conley. He's an awkward and soft-hearted young plume. He gets upset easily and is often rather emotional. He is shy, unlike Conley, and has trouble with self-esteem. Clyde's timidity often puts a damper on Conley's explorations. He's always had trouble putting himself out there, which is why he truly needs Conley. Clyde feels much more willing to adventure into the unknown with his closest companion.
The plumie is very earnest and reliable. He often doubts himself and pulls himself down. Clyde enjoys reading and writing, often keeping with him a small notebook to capture his thoughts. Kind and gentle, he likes helping others. Every word from his mouth is genuine and he is rather poetic when he isn't so afraid to speak. Deep down, Clyde is actually extremely protective, especially of Conley. Although he doesn't express himself as much as he should, truth is he wouldn't hesitate to literally throw himself in front of a bus for someone he loved.
Clyde is extremely nervous, and it's often an issue for him. He's skittish and introverted, preferring to not put himself in danger of an uncomfortable situation. He always seems to be uneasy and avoids social situations, except for when it involves Conley. He shies from the spotlight and isn't as assertive as he'd like to be. The problem with Clyde is that he has very interesting thoughts and ideas but would never voice them. He makes everything very difficult on himself.
The only company Clyde truly enjoys is Conley's. With his friend, he feels just a little more free, and little more at ease. Conley gives him the encouragement he needs to go out on a limb every now and then. In turn, Clyde offers Conley a much more down-to-earth perspective and keeps him grounded when he most needs it. Conley knows when to fly and Clyde knows when to stay on Earth.
Yeah, forever.
