He named his perfect feline companion Ace -

The little critter was a scoundrel, picking up rubbish from bins and scavenging where she could. She was a mangy example of a cat and none too caring about it ether. She liked to frequent the side rooms of restaurants and bars, there was always good food to steal. When she could her lithe body was perfect for slipping through doors or windows to snag herself first rate food from the kitchens.
In her wanderings she sometimes came across old nick-nacks and discarded items, she would sometimes horde them away to line her den - if it weren't destroyed that is by the usual means of street life.

Now it is wide speculation that animals of any kind have hardly the intelligence to comprehend the world as we do, and are unable to think as us sentient creatures. Well the facts of that one night changed Lexus's view of animals for eternity. He was playing poker, and losing. He had all his savings heaped up on the table in the form of chips. A cat had previously wandered by his view, peeking in through the window. But he couldn't care about that, his life's earnings were going to go down the drain. He closed his eyes wishing. A soft head butted up against his leg as a thin item was deposited in his dangling hand. What?!
He peeked down at the item in his hand, his suspicions confirmed.
It was a card.
And not just any card but what he needed to win.
An Ace.

He stared into the cats eyes, and the cat winked.
Yeah it was cheating but who cared? Two scoundrels should stick together.
He knew they would be together forever.
And so she became Ace.

Tigg is the name for this kitty.

I chose this name as it's the name of my precious cat who is rescued.
You see, we were looking to adopt a cat as ours have been given away due
to not being able to take care of them. We loved them dearly but it was too
much and it was for their own good. We now had the money but couldn't get our
cats back which were found as kittens playing in the road. They were rescued too.
Tigg was found as a kitten taken away from it's mother by a dog and the child had
taken the kitten from the dog and gave it to it's parents who then called up the
vet who had a place for kittens and took it in however there was no room to fit
another. One of the vets had taken the kitten home but couldn't keep it due to her
dogs not being fond of felines at all so she was forced to put it on craigslist for adoption.

From there, that's where we had found the ad. She was up for free along
with medication and eyedrops considering how young she was and being taken away
from her mother at a young age. She was such a fragile little thing that we held close
to our hearts. Now she is full-grown and loafs around the house. The big, fat ball
of fur had came into our lives with a loving attitude and adores attention.

So the cat's name is close to his heart and reminds him of the sweet ball of fur.

Cat's name & why: Popcorn. This is because Dani found the tiny kitten abandoned in a bustling human city, which he was forced to wander into after losing his only food stores to a traveling dog pack. After digging through trash can after human trash can in search of any sort of sustenance Dani heard a quiet but urgent mew coming from the fallen silver can to his left.
"I must be hearing things," Dani whispered to himself after a moment of silence.
Another mew sounded from the can, making Dani scramble out from within the can he had been stuffing his muzzle into. Dani stalked forward, ears pointed ahead, eyes narrowed. After a quick moment of searching through the cluttered space, kicking human garbage in all directions, Dani pulled out a red and white bucket from the can with his jaws. Dani gasped, eyes widening as he saw the tiny shape writhe within the box. A tiny cat, with thin orange fur, sat before him, turning to stare at him with wide auburn eyes.
The kit was thin and ragged looking, tiny ribs visible through its matted pelt. He stood for a second, examining the tiny cat before him, thinking. After a moment, he heard the not to distant rumble of a car's engine approaching, and quickly. He knew he could either leave the kitten here for the humans to find, or take it with him, which would mean caring for the kitten.
As the car pulled into the thin alleyway, and Dani snatched the kitten up by its scruff, he could see only one word that stood out from the sounds and lights on the tiny box he had found the kitten in, and as he scrambled under the fence and bolted into the treeline, he could smell a pungent scent on the kit; Popcorn.
