Day 27
Well, I've been here in Camp Seymore for three day now, and i have to tell you, Camp Kirby was much better... The days are always hot and dreary, and theirs no ocean in sight! just a boring old lake....
Although... not all is terrible, I've been hearing something about a canoeing trip... a few kids have even come back from the lake soaking wet with a dry life jacket outline. I could hear them from a mile away, their paws squishing in the mud that formed around their paws.
Day 28
Its True! some other kids have gotten the chance to go canoeing! do you think i will? it wasn't on my planned schedule.... That might be a downer...? maybe? There is still the free day! do you think i should go then? Its two days away
Day 29
I'm going for sure! everyday its all my friends talking about how they loved their canoeing trip! Its actually starting to hurt my ears :L I'm am going, i cant wait! i was told imma need a buddy, so i go this guy Jorden to join up with me, he hasn't gone canoeing here at camp seymore, but he said he had gone camping with his uncle this one time!
Day 30
OMG! today was awesome! i'm still soaking wet! here... let me tell you the whole story
Its true actually, Jorden had gone canoeing once before with his grandpa, but it had been on a motored boat, he didn't have to paddle once! Which was entirely different from earlier today. the green paddles we were bother given were light and plastic, the camp'eteers (that's what we called the adults who always told us the rules) said that we had to hold onto them, otherwise we wouldn't be able to make it back to shore. It was easy enough to hold onto them, but paddling and holding them was much harder!
The water was a lot heavier to push than i first thought... but that wasn't the hard part... the hard part, was keeping my cool. the boat was tipping side to side all the time! it was crazy actually how much it tipped without actually flipping over... Jorden was having a blast though, the dark grey-blue Scribble leaning side to side laughing loudly. I kept yelling at him to stop or he'll topple the boat, but he didn't listen...
We ended up flipping five minutes into the session, then we had to push the boat back to shore, it was fun 'cause we laughed about it the rest of the day, but it still would've been cooler if we could've lasted longer. oh well... i made a new friend in the process, and finally got to cool off and get away from that summer heat!
But i got to go, Jorden and I are toasting marshmallows tonight, I'm-ma going to teach him some of the best campfire songs known to scribbles! I can't wait to see his face!
