~ FIRST TOUCH ~
The rider wasn't sure what to expect from her latest adopted Neravontii. She'd read his adoption sheet and was both curious and a little cautious. All she'd been told was to watch out for sneak attacks and if she didn't want to end up tackled to the ground, she'd better learn to move fast.
After hearing all that, and reading Hawkeye's personality traits, all she could think of was 'had I adopted a velociraptor by mistake???'
She slowly crept up to the door of the stall and listened for any noises? No sound could be heard so she carefully looked into the stall to make sure she wasn't about to be ambushed but she saw nothing? There was enough light in the stall to see to the back, but there was no sign of any Nera in there?
She opened the door to let more light in and there was an explosion of dust all around her. The rider found herself flat on her back looking up at a very beautiful purple and burgundy Nera who had the most evil grin on his face as he leapt off her again and loped off into the paddock.
She lay there for a few more minutes catching her breath and thinking "well, they did try to warn me" as she covered her face and laughed.

~ FIRST SADDLE ~
Hawkeye was lying in wait for his rider.
He knew she wanted to try and saddle him today, but that wasn't in his plans for the day, so he was about to discourage her...he was having fun play hunting his rider, she was more fun because she didn't get mad at him, no matter what he tried.
As she opened the stall door he pounced! As he leapt in her direction, she somehow anticipated the move and ducked down so Hawkeye missed his target and ended up rolling across the floor.
When he got to his feet again, he suddenly realised he couldn't escape? He tried to move but he was firmly tied in place. Hawkeye was impressed, his clever rider had got the drop on him and he'd fallen into her trap instead.
She came over to make sure he was secure but comfortable and then set about putting the saddle on him, much to his annoyance.
Oh well, she'd won this round fair and square, he suffered the indignity of the saddle, but the next hunt would be his, Hawkeye thought with a grin.

~ FIRST RIDE ~
Hawkeye was feeling extremely impatient. He wanted to run, to hunt, but instead he was tied to a fence and having to put up with having a saddle on his back.
All in all, not the best start to his day.
He shuffled around to make it hard for his rider to put the saddle on, he snapped at her if she got too close, he even tried to trip her when he got a hand free, but nothing deterred his rider...who was almost as stubborn he was. So in the finish, he just stood there and pouted until the saddle was strapped on.
Eventually his rider got herself settled on Hawkeye's back and grabbed at the rope arrangement. She flicked it in just the right way to make the entire knot system part company and as soon as his legs were free, Hawkeye was gone!
He ran along the path, nose to the ground, sniffing out whatever prey might be easily hunt-able in the long grass beside the path, but nothing seemed to be around. Certainly no tasty prey smells, he pouted, thinking of lost snacks that weren't to be had on this ride.
After that, he settled down to a slow trot, just in case he was able to scare anything from the undergrowth, his head swaying from side to side as he moved along. He decided after a little while that it wasn't really so bad...not that he would let his rider know that, he thought with an evil smile.
