One night when Aoide and her best friend, Hákon, were both sleepless they went for a long night run and found this distant river under the stars beyond the area the herd usually travels. Now she comes here occasionally when she needs to center herself.


The narrow canyons just outside the oasis brings back strong memories of the races she and the other foals hosted when they were young through the twisting, slightly dangerous rock walls when they could sneak away from their mother's watchful eyes. It was here that she honed her passion for competing.
