Immy, she is absolutely gorgeous! I think her barn name will be River, and her show name with be Light's Twisted Path.
*squeals* aah, I'm so excited to train her! That rearing habit's going to make it tough, but I'll see what I can do.

Dear Journal, in the next few months, I will be filling you with letters about my second, and hopefully more successful, attempt at Cottonwood Wild Horse Ranch's Extreme Mustang Makeover. First, though, let me introduce you to the person behind the pen: me! My name is Emma Lee Jones, and I'm a 20 year old who's currently attending college to become a horse trainer. My father owns a ranch down in Colorado, and he's been allowing me to use it for training the mustangs I get for the Extreme Mustang Makeover. As a horse trainer himself, he knows just how much hard work and patience needs to go into training a horse that's never been touched by human hands before. Hopefully, the two of us will be able to handle whatever mustang is thrown our way this year.

Dear Journal, today I get to go pick up my mustang for the Extreme Mustang Makeover! I'm so excited to actually be able to participate this year, since this is technically my first year. Yes, I did enter last year, but it didn't exactly go well. I would guess that you would know that already, though, since you were supposed to be Kaytsak's journal in the first place. I never got very far in training that beautiful boy young boy, though, due to an unfortunate injury. Let's just say that I learned the hard way that he doesn't like it when you go anywhere near his left side, and shoulder in particular. Now that I've had a bit of time to do my homework, though, I'll be doing the best I can to train this next mustang the right way. Maybe I'll still have time to go back and continue Kaytsak's training at the same time...
Anyways, enough said about last year's mustang, I am super excited to go and pick up this year's beautiful horse! I made sure to rent a trailer that perfectly meets the requirements a few days in advance, and I'm leaving the hotel I stayed at to go pick him or her up very soon. It will be a long drive to get my mustang back home, but it will all be worth it in the end. I'm hoping to be able to train this horse for some show jumping in the future, but I'll have to see what the horse I end up with is capable of. After all, I have to be the one to train it for those things. Oh, look at the time! If I don't leave now, I'll be late!
--------
I'm finally back home, and this time with my new mustang in tow! It was a bit of a longer drive than I thought it would be, but it was definitely worth it to drive all this way to recieve this beautiful mare. She's a six year old black tovero that I've decided to name River, which is based on the marking she has on her left side. I can tell that she'll be a challenge - she was certainly making a lot of noise in the trailer on the way home, but I think I'll be able to handle whatever quirks that she throws my way. After all, mares are always a little trickier than stallions, in my opinion.
She was a bit crazy when she was released into the round pen, and was rearing quite a bit once she figured out that she wasn't totally free. I'm hoping that it's because she wasn't happy about being cooped up in a trailer for so long, but if it becomes a more persisting problem then I'll do some more research on how to fix it.
Anyways, it's getting a bit late, and I still have some research to do on training tips! I'll come back with more info tomorrow.
