Natsuko has always wanted to travel to the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. She has always been fascinated in all the wildlife and beautiful plants in the jungle. Although most of it being unexplored and hard to reach, Natsuko would love to take on the feat just to experience the ecosystem of the rainforest. Even though she loves all the animals of the forest, whether it be chimpanzees or insects, such as the praying mantis, or even the snakes and frogs, she has always wanted to get an up-close look at a scarlet macaw. She admires their wonderful colors, and how they live high above the ground in the beautiful canopy of the dense trees. Another stunning animal she longs to catch a glimpse of would be the strong jaguar. She has always watched TV shows of the magnificent rainforest of brazil from the time she was just a little kid. Day and night, she was constantly searching National Geographic or Animal Planet for shows about the Amazon Jungle to add to her growing knowledge of the paradise, constantly dreaming of the day she would experience the place for herself. She often writes in a journal of all the interesting facts she has learned about the wonderful place. And she is constantly adding to it. Every time she finds something new about the Amazon Rainforest, she takes out her journal and writes it down as soon as she can. She also is a very skilled artist, drawing almost every animal in the entire forest. One look at her room, and you would be amazed at all the pictures filling up her walls and her doors, as well as her dressers and closet. You may say she has an obsession, but it is merely a love for what she thinks is elegant.

it's hard to call yourself beautiful when you don't often feel that way. It's hard to love yourself when you can only see day by day. Cali has a habit of losing herself in negative thoughts of the now, never does her mind wander past what's right in front of her. This in one thing sequoia national park, primarily General Sherman (the tree) seems to remedy. Though the 2000-year-old tree is nowhere near the largest, nor oldest, it's an attraction to all. Californa loves this tree specifically because she relates to it if this tree was once small as she is now, she too could grow huge, beautiful, loved. The redwood is otherworldly to her. General Sherman gives the girl a ray of hope.
