General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Orphan Rescue Event wrote:The story goes like this;
A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

Whoops, I just noticed I put too much white. I'll go in and fix it soon. My pen pressure had died halfway through and I left it as is. xP

I stepped inside the barn and took a deep breath. The horse smell was familiar, like a tender embrace. I couldn't help but smile as I wandered down the isle, examining each stall door for my name. It took me less than two minutes to actually find the door with my name on. Butterflies made themselves known as I stepped up the door and looked into the stall. A tiny Chrysaora Basilisk stared at me from the shadows, her mane and tail were beautiful shades of green falling over a stunning buckskin tobiano coat.
"Hello, small lady" I breathed as we stared at one another. She chirped hesitantly and I felt myself no longer willing to move away from her even for the smallest of moments. "A Siren indeed. A fitting name for you it would seem, my small lady" I whispered to her.

Siren shrank back once again as I slowly reached for her. A sigh escaped my lips and I drew back.
"Come along now, small lady, how am I supposed to help you if you will not allow me near you?" I asked her gently as I slid down the wall to land in the soft hay that covered the floor of her stall. A tired sigh escaped my lips and I leaned my head against the side of her stable, the wood was warm and smooth and I found my eyes getting heavy. I blinked a few times and shook myself.
"Get a hold of yourself you can't fall asleep here, not when you have so many things to do" I mumbled sleepily and rested my head against the wooden wall again.
At some point I must have fallen asleep, as I woke up curled in the straw. Something warm moved against my stomach, looking down I smiled as I saw the tiny form of Siren. The little Chrysaora Basilisk fast asleep against my body.

I sat down in the straw allowing Siren to clamber onto my lap and settle herself down.
"So small lady, are you hungry?" I asked gently as I ran a hand along her back. The tiny Chrysaora Basilisk looked up at me, head tilted slightly to one side and chirped quietly.
"I'll take that as a yes" I laughed as she licked my chin. I reached over and pulled a decent sized bottle from where it had been sat in a small holder, bringing my wrist up I gently squeezed the bottle allowing a bit of milk to drop out and splash onto my skin. The temperature was perfect. Siren chirped again and nudged me. A quiet laugh escaped my lips and I held the bottle down at her level so she could investigate it.
The filly chirped at the bottle and licked it, biting down on the teat and pulling at it.
"Don't pull on it you little monster, there's no way I am letting you cover me in milk" laughter escaped my lips as I spoke. Siren tilted her head again as I nudged the teat against her mouth. The filly seemed to catch on fairly fast and within a few moments had grabbed the teat, greedily guzzling down the milk.

I watched from my little section as Siren wandered the paddock occasionally looking up to make sure I hadn't by some means escaped and run away from her. Not that I would of course but she had still yet to grasp that fact. A pale grey head poked over the fence and Neria announced herself with a gentle greeting in my mind. I smiled at the grey mare as she turned her gaze on Siren.
"Who is this small being that has so dutifully attached itself to you?" Neria asked.
"This is Siren, an orphan rescued from a basement among a number of other foals. I volunteered to bring her somewhere she would be safe from the ones who took her" I replied softly. Neria lowered her head and called out softly to the foal who in turn dashed to hide behind me and peer cautiously out from under my hair. I laughed softly.
"Oh small lady, don't be afraid, Neria only wishes to introduce herself to you" I told the small tobiano filly who chirped hesitantly before creeping forward to touch her tiny nose to the much larger mulberry grey one. Siren squealed and dashed away when Neria gently blew warm air into her face.
"She will be just fine" Neria announced and for a moment I swore I could see her smile.
