Slate was once a sweet, innocent tolter but over time, he's become cold, and shut off. His past is a mess of pain and sadness, causing his rude, rough exterior. He's a terrible pessimist and perpetually grumpy at everyone. He really doesn't have any virtues and his talent is giving the cold shoulder. The only one who can tolerate him is Sea. She brushes off his harsh comments with a laugh, which infuriates him further and after time with her, he is always exceptionally nasty. However there are rumors going around that say the reason he reacts to her like that is because he likes her but Slate will never breathe a word to confirm or deny them.

Slate doesn't generally like music, but if he had to pick a theme song, he'd choose break your little heart by all time low. It might be a bit upbeat for him, but he likes the rhythm.

    Image;
Pain and I are close acquaintances
    He squeezes my throat
    He twists my guts
    He creeps down my spine
    And burrows in my joints
    He pierces my skull
    He punctures my lungs
    He shadows my every move
    But worst of all;
He grips my heart in a tight fist
    And refuses to let go

        A Moon's Dying Wish // Mark

        Gender:
        Unaltered stallion.

        Halter Color:
        A dark blue night sky.

----------------Image

        Personality:
To talk of such a stallion is in its own way a heart warming conversation no matter how you can
put it. After his father's passing and the seperation between his mother and himself, he has
been nothing but agreeable and kind in places where only regret and melancholy should reside.
Mark is capable of keeping up his hopes and heart for the benefit of the company around him.
There has never been anyone who he has been irritable and disagreeing with. Mark sees no
point in being harsh with someone who could end up saving your life or being your best friend.
Making another being unhappy is a tired and senseless activity that he never wishes to take
part in. Although he is very gracious and loving, Mark is also very fragile. You will never know
when you have harmed him but whatever you have done to him will stay within his mind for
        years.

To follow his harmonious attitude, he has a love to sit beneath a specific willow tree within the
stable yard. It looks like any other tree compared to all of the others compared to it. But he can't
see that it's the same like you or I can. Mark is incapable of sight. Being blinded at birth by an
abusive owner, the occipital lobe within his brain was severely damaged and thusly incapacitated
him of sight. Mark is only capable of seeing blurred shapes and lights. And even with that limited
amount of visual ability, he is extremely light sensitive. But that's what makes this tree so special.

In the middle of the night he'll wander out into the yard, making his place against the trunk of
the tree's drooping branches. And the light will creep inbetween the branches so perfectly. Just
enoguh starlight breaks through the leaves so he can appreciate and feel the moon's soft gaze
against his body. Having such a peaceful and warm feeling added with the soft orchestral hum of
crickets and various wildlife to distract his thoughts can only be descried as the ultimate experience
of drifting between the calm life of domestication and the exciting wilderness in its true form.

Name: Psychotic Tendencies
Gender: Stallion
Halter Color: Dark blue

Personality: Psycho was aptly named, as he was a very opinionated colt. He was brutish and pushed other horses and humans around, and was strong enough to muscle his way through any situation. However, as he grew, he started to realize that just because you can shove your way through, doesn't mean you should. He went through a questioning phase as he tried to learn to be kinder, and is now a much calmer horse. He tries very hard to see the other side of the story, and put himself in others' shoes. He sometimes still makes rash decisions, but usually thinks through them and is fairly logical.

Tack: Psycho is ridden most often in bright white tack. His schooling set consists of white splint boots, a white nylon set of matching bridle, breast plate, reins, a light blue saddle pad and/or half pad, and a light brown leather saddle. When shown he is ridden in a white leather saddle and an all leather set of tack and white polo wraps. His show bridle has a bright blue brow band that stands out and draws attention to his unique face marking. His rider wears a dark coat when showing and light colored polo shirts when schooling.

Name: Crow's Laughter/Corvus
Gender: Stallion
Halter Color: Cream with a black feather on the cheek strap

Personality: "Oh, Corvus, that poor dear soul. He's so beautiful, yet his story's so tragic, it's unreal. Fate has shaped him into what he is now, which, I tell you, isn't much. He was abused by his former owners until I came upon him, but he's still very different than the other horses. He's never developed a herd instinct, so he's fine being alone and away from others. When he is with other horses, he has to show his dominance over them. He'll kick and bite and bellow at the stallions, but he won't touch a hair on any mare. And he doesn't like being pet. He's fine with grooming, tacking and such, but you'll come away missing a chunk of your hand if you try to pet him. He's a lone stallion, wild at heart. I can't stop instinct."

Extra: Story, 932 words

He never really knew his mother. She fed him, kept him warm, and gave him someone to learn from. But then she was taken away. He flew into a frenzied panic, kicking and biting anyone who dared try to keep him from her. And that was when he first felt the slap of a whip. So shocked was he, he stood there, not moving, just staring as his mother was put in a trailer and driven off. And then his owner turned to him, cuffed his head, and led him back to a stall. He was lonely, staring at the sky, fed once a day. A handful of oats, a bucket of hay.

He was let outside once a day for two hours so he could stretch his legs and interact with other horses while his stall was cleaned, but he never fit in. The other foals chased him, kicking and biting until he finally retaliated and kicked one colt in the head. The large bay colt, a few months older than him, went down with a shriek, collapsing as blood began to drip into his eyes. The bay lived for a few seconds longer, and then he was no more. The other foals, terrified, ran back to their mothers. The bay's mother found him sniffing her colt's body and turned on him, a terrible rage in her eyes as she drove him away from the herd with sharp nips of her teeth and many bellows.

And so he stayed by the barbed wire fence for the rest of his two hours, his owner in a fit of rage at the killing of his prize colt. He was locked in his stall for a week straight as punishment, starving and alone and confused. He didn't mean to kill the colt. He had only gotten mad at him for hurting his body, and kicked without aim. Now he was being punished. Should he not kick or bite other horses? He would try.

So when he was let out, he went back to the herd and tried to play with the other foals. But they didn't want to play. They were scared of him, so scared that their fight instinct turned on and together they attacked him, kicking at him and biting and in a fit, and he came away from that attack with a bad cut on the right side of his face. He tried to lick away the blood, but the taste was so horrible, he just let it drip, drip, drip down his face and onto the grass, where it pooled before the cut was clotted by his platelets and he was left with a nasty scar, now hidden by his facial markings.

But he learned that day that the other horses were vicious. They were cruel and didn't like him, and they hurt him. Now he was being punished for not hurting them. And again he was confused. He was punished for hurting, and he was punished for not hurting. So what should he do? He thought about this as he lay in his stall, the cut cleaned and a bandage wrapped around his face. He was being punished for hurting horses and being punished by horses for hurting one of their herd. So maybe he should stay away from the horses and go to the humans? Yes, he would try.
Image

And so, the next day when his stall door was opened, he walked out and wouldn't leave his owner's side. His owner tried and tried to get him to leave to go to the other horses, but he just wouldn't leave him. And so the owner, confused and annoyed, bent to the earth and picked up a large rock. And he turned and flung it at the colt, who shied away at the very last second, the stone just hitting his hindquarters. His owner, with a discouraged sigh, beckoned the colt to him and began to pet him. But then he punched the colt, punched him in the shoulder, and continued to rain down hits on the already confused and injured colt. He scrambled away, a hurt look in his eyes, and ran as quick as he could back to his stall.

He was hurt. The horses had hurt him, his human had hurt him, and now he had nothing else to lose. So he went to the pasture, bellowed to his owner, and went in when the gate was opened. The other foals came up to him, trying to nip them, but he bit them, full on bit them when they tried to. He tasted their blood in his mouth, and he didn't like it, but he had to fit in. He had to belong. And so he showed his dominance, and became the new lead colt of the foal band. But he didn't want to lead. He stood away after he established dominance, and decided that was good enough for him. The other foals respected him now, they knew of his strength, and they wouldn't hurt him.

He led this life for a few more months, maybe half a year, before he turned on a stallion when they tried to take his food. He bit the older stallion, kicked him in the side, and ripped his left ear to shreds. His owner learned of this viciousness and decided to sell him because he was too violent, and so his new owner came upon him and took him in, treating the beautiful stallion as he should have been treated his whole life - with love and gentle, patient, care.
