General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Orphan Rescue Event wrote:The story goes like this;
A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

the first encounter
--->It was morning, and I was heading off to the chrysaoras orphan rescue. Earlier in the week, a friend of mine had told me about the place–as she knew that I had been wanting a foal for a long time. As she predicted, I was so excited that I immediately set my mind on finding more information on the event and adoptions. I do admit that I may have gotten a little carried away with the whole idea, but here I am now, walking towards the one place that may be able to grant my wish of finding the perfect chrysaora that I could call mine.
--->I flipped through the documents that I had prepared and brought along with me, reading it over and over, hoping that I had filled everything out correctly. As I neared the place, I noticed a large crowd of people piling along the entrance of the rescue, many on their tip-toes, trying to get a good glance at the stalls. I soon got close enough to hear the excitement in the voices, and could feel my own starting to build up. I walked over to one of the front desks and gave the person behind the glass the documents.
--->"Hello! I'm Bright, and I hope to rescue a chrysaora today!" I said. They stared at me for a moment, then gave me nothing more than a nod. They then gave someone the documents and had them escort me to a long line of stalls. There were at least a dozen doors, maybe even more!
--->"Over here Ms.," the woman said as she led me to a far stall. She lifted an arm and gestured towards the door, smiling. "Here we are. I hope she suits you, and if not, we can always try to find another."
--->There was a small tag on the door that simply said:
naмe ;; --
ғιlly
--->Overly excited, I peeked over the stall and set my eyes on a semi-translucent egg with a gorgeous chrysaora foal squirming inside. As far as I could tell, the chrysaora had a grey tobiano coat and an electric purple mane and tail. I couldn't help but immediately fall in love. "Ah! She's so gorgeous and perfect!" I managed to let out before I noticed that the filly was hatching out of it's egg.
--->Within seconds, the chrysaora was out and rolling about in the stall, attempting to stand on four, wobbling legs. I turned, "May I?" I asked, pointing at the lock on the stall door. The women nodded and I stepped forward, unlocking the stall momentarily as I slipped inside and locked it again. I slowly bent down on my knees, until I was at the same eye level as the foal. She stared at me, and I stared at her–and in that very moment, I knew that this chrysaora was the one for me.

first feeding
- before gaining trust -
--->It sure is a hot day outside.
I thought to myself as I sat up in bed and looked out of the window. Well! That's not stopping me from taking care of Kiera!
--->It has only been a few days since I adopted Kiera from the orphan rescue not far from here, but I know I'm already happier when I know she's around. I headed towards the barn behind our house and opened the large, heavy doors. As I did, a smell of warm, musty leaves hit me in the face. Humming an old childhood song, I grabbed all the daily care essentials and headed towards Kiera's stall.
--->Knocking quietly, waking Kiera up, I stepped into her stall and started to clean. Afterwards, I brushed her tail and mane as well as groomed her smooth, shimmering coat, which was slowly turning from newborn-white to a pale shade of grey tobiano. I grinned, happy that I had her. I then left the stall for a few minutes to grab some feed and water. Along the way, I spotted some sugar cube bags stashed in the corner, stuffed one in my pocket and headed back to the stall.
--->"Back!" I announced when I reached her stall. "I also have your food," holding up a bag of feed and oats. I carefully poured the appropriate amount and turned back to Kiera, watching her inspect the food, as always. I couldn't help but feel so much joy when she started munching on it. "I also have a treat for you." I said as I took a single sugar cube out of my pocket. Kiera flicked her ears and turned to gaze at the small white thing in my hand. She walked up to me, took it in her mouth and started munching on it. Obviously liking them, she turned her head again and nuzzled my pocket for more, so I gave her another. This repeated afterwards, but I knew not to give her too much. It was also getting a little behind on time, so I needed to get going. "Oh, there will always be more! Don't worry Kiera, I'll be back tomorrow." I grinned and walked out of her stall, locking it securely behind me.
--->"Bye! See you later," I said, with Kiera neighing back at me.

our time together
--->After a while of getting to know each other, likes and dislikes included, we grew closer and closer and were practically inseparable. I spent the majority of my time with Kiera, and today was going to be no different.
--->I opened the barn door, only to be welcomed by the same old smell that was always there. I headed to Kiera's stall and opened it, small shoulder bag beating at my side. "How about we go for a little walk today Kiera?" I said and she neighed in agreement. "Sound like a plan! Let's go!" I said excitedly and ran out of the barn with Kiera trailing close behind me. We hopped and skipped around in the large field that we always went to, until we reached a small, flowing stream.
--->"Rest?" I asked and sat down, reaching into my bag I had brought along with me. I held out an apple and could see Kiera's excitement as she lowered her neck and took it. I stuffed my face in her mane, which caught her by surprise. "Oops, I'm sorry Kiera! My bad," I laughed. "Honestly, I don't know what I would do without you."
--->And I meant it. I'm so grateful and glad that my friend had told me about the orphan rescue, and I believe that Kiera and I both gave each other something valuable that we both didn't have before.
