General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

The story goes like this;
A human trapper had stolen many chrysaora foals and was selling them in a underground black market. A organization of people stopped him and rescued the foals, and are now trying to adopt them out. Each of the foals needs an experienced owner to love and raise them. We're counting on you, the members of the chry community, to give these babes a second chance at life.

It was far too early for this. She'd been called at the wee hours of the morning, and offered an orphaned chrys - how in the world was she supposed to take care of a wild foal?! All hers had been adults when caught or born from her own stock; this was something much much more different than anything she was used to. Nonetheless, she got up before the sun and loaded up her truck and made her way to the address she'd been given over the phone.

There, it was a hive of activity, even in these early hours. Apparently there were some hundreds of foals being adopted out. She was immediately flagged down by an attendant and asked for the foal's number she'd gotten through the call as well.

"257. Supposed to be perlino of some sort?" The attendant smiled broadly and led her through the crowd and to the very last stall, where a small tan-and-mint swirled egg was sat among warm straw and blankets. She'd decided to wait at the barn for him to hatch, and immediately made herself comfortable.

It seemed close, she could see his head moving, horns tapping against the eggshell and cracks beginning to spiderweb across it's surface. The barn began to quiet, as other handlers opted to take their eggs home. Eventually, the lights were dimmed and one of the hands came to inform her they were going to bed; but other people were still there with her, waiting on their own eggs if she needed anything. She thanked them, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them as she returned her gaze to the egg.

She must've fallen asleep, cause she was jolted awake by a tug on her hair. She woke wildly, jerking her head around and startling the spindly colt backwards until he tripped over his own eggshells and landed square on his rump, staring at her.

Everything seemed to freeze, and she found her eyes glued to his. She let a shaky breath, reaching up to hold her palm out for him to sniff, never breaking eye contact. He snorted, bumping his nose hungrily against her hand and sucking one of her fingers into his mouth, causing her to giggle. Of course he'd be hungry!

She dug in her pack for the still-warm bottle she'd prepared before she fell asleep, holding it out for him to suckle on greedily until it was empty and he let out a pleased bleat. He followed her as she left the stall, rubbing his head against her hip and making cooing noises as she bundled him up and gathered him into the front seat of her truck to begin the slow ride home.
