Something like this
It doesn't look like much, but Xalva calls it home. She like the simplicity of the place, and seeing as it's old and looks abandoned, who would guess that a warrior lived there?
Relationship with bird:
Xalva found her bird, Lieve ([Dutch origin, meaning "Dear friend']), when she was very young. She had been walking through the forests surrounding her home when she spotted what she had believed to be a gem on the ground. Since she was clueless and innocent at that time, she took the "gem" back to her home, placing it under a lamp by pure coincidence. After going to sleep and awakening the next morning, she was shocked to see her new treasure cracked to pieces. Xalva was angered, until she noticed a small bird chirping nearby. It was upon seeing this that she realized that her gem had actually been an egg. Obviously, she didn't know exactly how to take care of the small bird, so it took many, many 'tests' before she could figure out its basic needs. Xalva didn't name the bird until the first battle she took part in many years later. Lieve served as her messenger and spy, which she was grateful for. On occasion, the intelligent bird even fought at her, or should I say his, side, using a sewing needle as a sword. The most damage the little avian ever did was blinding, but it was a load of help to the Iquena who had decided to fight. Since the beginning, the two creatures have been, for the most part, inseparable.

Zodiac:
Taurus, The Bull:
Like the animal that represents them, Taurians are all about strength, stamina and will. Stubborn by nature, the Taurus will stand his/her ground to the bitter end (sometimes even irrationally so). However, that's okay because the Taurus is also a loving, sympathetic and appreciative sign. Taurians are very understanding and when someone needs someone to unburden themselves to, they often share their deepest fears with the Taurians of the zodiac. Taurians are very patient, practical and efficient, often being excellent in matters of business, and are also wonderful instructors/teachers. Although initially they may have their own best interest at heart, they are ultimately & endlessly generous with their time, possessions and love.
Personality:
Xalva is strong in both the heart and the mind, dedicating her time to protect those she loves. When it comes to things she cares deeply about, she will most definitely stand her ground if it's threatened. Though her appearance can make her seem evil, she truly is good, though in a stubborn, somewhat over-protective fashion. She loves to put her stamina and strength to the test, which may be her motive to fight in battles. However, her love of her home, the land around it, and the Iquena that she holds close, may also be one of her strongest motives. Though the flag attached to her armor supposedly makes her part of a "royal army", she has no royal blood what so ever, and the flag is only there because it enables her to sneak into battles without being questioned. Despite her rather rough personality, she adores teaching others how to fight, and is often seen doing so in her free time. Many consider her a great fighter, but she never lets the pride that comes with such appraisal cloud her judgement, as she believes it such a feeling would poison her good intentions and turn them into selfish desires. Xalva doesn't mind listening to others troubles, and will often try to mend them to her best ability, though it doesn't always work. She's particularly fond of animals, especially birds, considering that they're wonderful in many ways, and are great messengers. However, Lieve will always be her dearest friend and best messenger.

Why She Has a Beard:
Xalva is always asked why she has a beard even though she's a female. The answer isn't very complex, as many thought. Upon hearing that a battle was taking place somewhere near where she lived, Xalva knew she was destined to fight. However, she was sure they'd never let a female fight, so her plan was to disguise herself as a male. To do this, she crafted herself a set of armor, though it took quite some time, about three months, to be exact. In this span of time, she didn't pay much attention to her actual appearance, so she never noticed that she'd grown a beard. When she finally did notice, however, she was more pleased than surprised, as that would make her seem more masculine.

Job:
When she's off the battle field, Xalva works as a blacksmith, making armor and weapons for any ally who requires them. There's something about smithing that she just loves. One of the suspected reasons is that she loves the idea of being able to craft something powerful from simple sheets of iron or steel. Another suspected reason is because of her love of fire. Xalva thinks it has a strange, unique beauty to it, that cannot be matched by anything else in existence.
Brief History
Xalva was abandoned after the death of her parents at a young age. However, it took a long time for her to accept that they were gone, as she had always thought they were just taking a long time to come home. After finding him, she spent a long span of time simply raising Lieve and doing only basic things, like eating, sleeping, etc. When she was around 16 (human) years of age, though, was when she established her career as a blacksmith. Her shop is set up in a town near her home. About 2 (human) years later is when she took part in her first battle, which is known as The Battle of Mosshill. The battle took place a few miles from her home, and was the beginning of her career as a warrior. The second battle came by 5 (human) years later, and is known as The Battle for Terrece ,which took place in and around the town of Terrece, located a few miles away from her home. A (human) year later, the next battle occurred, lasting for 3 years. It is known as The Triple Year Attack, as it consisted of various attacks on various landmarks and towns. Two more battles occurred in her more recent years, known as The Battle for The Castle and The Battle of Lost Canyon. Both of these battles were significant, as they were attacks on royal figures. Presently, Xalva waits for her next battle while smithing new armor.
Brief Battle History:
The Battle of Mosshill: In this battle, Xalva entered without Lieve, thinking it would be too dangerous to bring her companion. She adorned her armor and went to fight. Upon seeing the battle from a safe distance, she noticed that the warriors all had the royal flag, meaning they were the royal army. Knowing they'd find her out, she intended to go home and make herself one, but to her surprise, Lieve came flying over with one in his beak. She thanked the bird, put on her flag, and rushed into battle. Lieve perched in a tree close by, prepared to help in anyway he could. Xalva fought valiantly through the entirety of the battle, and her identity was never questioned. Occasionally, she would send Lieve off for supplies, which is arguably the cause for the royal army's success.
The Battle for Terrece: This battle is arguably the one Xalva fought hardest in, most likely because the enemy attacked at night, and many of her friends were injured. Lieve was sent out for supplies from nearby towns frequently, as most of Terrence's supplies had been burned, along with many of it's homes and businesses. Seeing as that the royal army wasn't there right away, Xalva led a group of able-bodied Iquena to fight alongside her, keeping the enemy busy while Lieve went to alert the royal army. In the end, the battle was won, but at the cost of many lives.
The Triple Year Attack: Thanks to her growing reputation as a great fighter, Xalva was able to lead a group of Iquena throughout the entirety of the battle. This was the first battle Lieve fought in, though he usually kept to his main job as messenger. He was notably important, as getting messages between the groups of warriors was crucial to their success. Xalva's strategy planning skills were put to use the most during this battle, and with a bit of help from a few spies, could be the reason the royal army won.
The Battle for the Castle: This is easily one of the most important battles of Xalva's life, even though she was injured quite badly and couldn't fight for most of it. Despite her injury and loss of voice, Xalva continued to plan and fight, not caring whether she died or not. As long as she died fighting, it would be fine. She received the injury approximately 4 months into the battle. It occurred when she had been jabbed by a sword tip in the back of the mouth on her neck. Lieve fought more than messaged in this battle, as he wanted to avenge Xalva. The blindness he caused many on the opposing side was the reason the royal army won.
The Battle of Lost Canyon: Xalva's efforts in battle had made her skilled, and for that, she was able to lead the royal army in this battle. Lieve continued to blind the enemy and message at her side the whole time, but suffered a near life-threatening injury which left him in the hospital tents set up a mile away for quite some time. Xalva was angered by this, so she used her rage to fuel her. The battle went on for about a year before it was over, but due to her rage Xalva had lost control of her senses and ended up killing far more than she had wanted, leaving her shocked. Normally she just severely injured or maimed the enemy, as some had lives worth sparing. However, the battle was won, and no more could be done.

Allergies:
Pollen, bee stings, and honey
Habits:
Petting Lieve: If Xalva is focusing to hard on one thing that doesn't involve her moving, she'll start petting Lieve, despite the bird's protests
Flicking Her Tail: If she's got nothing to do, or is angry, Xalva will flick her tail for long spans of time
Chewing on the her Feathering (feathering as in long fur near hooves): If Xalva is anxious, nervous, or confused, she will often chew on her feathering for some odd reason.
