Tall, lean frame, round ears, and bright eyes, Xholis are diurnal, hierarchal, and intelligent species that wield the forces of nature. Xholis are social animals that can be recognized into 2 different clans. The ones that hunt at dusk, and those that hunt at dawn. Their pelt reflects their environment as the Dusk hunters tend to have darker palette while the Dawn hunters are significantly lighter. Between those two clans, the species are once again split into more diverse and specialized packs. Fire, Earth and Water are the most common forces of nature that each Xholi wields. The gem they are born with determines their attribute, which is effected by the parent's gems. Every Xholi is given a role befitting their status in the pack, and the leader of the each pack is expected to keep the peace.

250 word extra: You're frozen in fear, heart racing. Your parents told you not to go out into the forest at night, but did anyway. You regret your decision because you're now racing through darkening forest with the hunting howls of the Dusk nipping at your heels and making your tiny body convulse with fear. You've heard stories of the. Dusk from some of your pup friends, and each one involves Dawn pups getting eaten. You need to be careful because your gem is still soft, but you lack the grace both of your hunter parents have. You see glowing yellow eyes out of the corner of your eyes and yelp, terrified. You loose footing and tumble down a ravine, gaining a small scratch on your gem. You try to stand as the eyes approach, but immediately fall into the dark figure. It chuckles, a warm sound in a cold forest. "If you're gonna eat me, please do it fast" you say. The dark figure starts laughing so hard, it falls. Now level with you, the gentle yellow eyes pierce your fear and you giggle, realizing how stupid you sounded. Yellow eyes is a Maji pupsitter who happened to smell your fear. She leads you back to her pack for the night, and you sleep. The next day, she walks you back home and you thank her. You vow to be a pupsitter when you're older to honor her because you want the chance to make a difference in a pup's life.
