You hesitate for a moment just outside the front of the small shop. The outside isn’t much decorated, there is only one small sign hanging just above the glass door.

It reads;

SEEKER
Find your Soulmate

Soulmate. The word scares you. It’s hard to believe that there is somebody out there that is perfect for you. You wouldn’t even believe in this stuff if your friend hadn’t come to this exact same shop, and then proceeded to meet their soulmate a week later. Come to think of it, you don’t really know how it works. Your friend said that they weren’t allowed to tell; that you’d just have to find out yourself.

You peer through the glass door and see a small counter to the left, but nobody inside. The inside isn’t much decorated either.
You have already told yourself that you are going to do this. You deserve happiness. You can’t back out now.

Steeling yourself, you finally pull open the front door. It’s eerily silent inside; the door slamming behind you makes you startle. You still don’t see anybody. You take a moment to look around the small shop, but there isn’t much to look at. There are a few strange symbols on the walls and a small table with two chairs in the middle of the shop, but that’s about it.

“Hello.”

You jump, startled by the voice. You turn around and see another Plumerian. The first thing you notice is his eyes. They are completely grey, and actually a little scary to look at. If they weren’t looking directly you would think that he was blind.

The next thing you notice is the beautiful markings along his fur. You’ve never seen anything like it. You realize that you still haven’t replied; the Plumerian smiles and gestures to the small table with the chairs. “Sit,” he says kindly.

You hesitantly walk to the table and sit in the chair directly across from him. He just keeps smiling.

“My name is Orion. I assume you came here for a reason, yes?”

You stammer out your name and that yes, you did come here for a reason.Orion smiles kindly. “Well then,” he starts, “let’s get right to it.” He holds his hand out, palm up, and says, “Please give me your right hand.”

You comply quickly, carefully placing your right paw on his. Orion then closes his eyes and places his left hand on top of yours.
He goes extremely still and quiet; brow furrowing like he’s concentrating. You feel a tingle in your hand.

Just as quickly as it had begun, it stops. Orion grins and opens his eyes, removing his hands from yours. He quickly gets up, rushing over to the small counter. He grabs a sticky note and pen, writing something down quickly and folding the sticky note.

You get out of the chair and walk up to him, confused and about to ask what the heck just happened, when he hands you the folded sticky note. You take it, still not understanding. Before you can ask Orion says, “Open and read that when you are alone. That is the name of your Soulmate, and the time and place you will meet them.”

He turns around and begins to walk to the door in the back of the shop. You think you should say something, but you are too stunned and confused to think of anything. Orion pauses before going through the door, his hand on the handle. He turns around, and you are struck by how serious his face has gotten. Those eyes still creep you out.

“Please remember not to tell anybody about what I did. Something bad could happen.”

Your head is just swimming with even more questions. Before he can walk through the door, you blurt out, "Have you found your soulmate?" Almost instantly, Orion's eyes turn sad, along with his smile.

"No," he says, sighing wistfully. " I cannot use it on myself. When I do, I don't see anything." He pauses for a moment, like he's thinking back on something. "I have tried it many times," is what he finishes with. His eyes even more sad, and the smile has dropped away completely.

Suddenly, his face is bright and smiling again, albeit a little strained. "That's why I do this. So other people can have their chance."

You don't know what to say to that. You're sorry? You wish him luck on finding his soulmate? Before you can say anything though, he is turning back to the door and calling out a, "Have a nice day," before walking through.

The door slams shut. You stand in the middle of the shop, looking down at the folded sticky note.
