Their Story: Ivy was once a wayward soul, she felt she had no purpose and often couldn't muster the energy to do anything. She had fallen into a sea of darkness that seemed impossible to get out of and she stayed like that for many years moving from barn to barn until she ended up at Ironwood. Ivy acted as she did with all her previous owners, detached from the world around her. She rarely acknowledged horses and didn't even try to acknowledge humans. Often she didn't even eat, that was when it was decided that we were going to move her into a pen with our most inspirational horse, Solomon. At first she acted as she had before with him, rarely ever ackowledging him, but one night as we watched from our kitchen window, we saw Ivy look up towards the stars and Solomon join her, nuzzling the side of her face. This was when we started to see the change in Ivy, slowly she began to come out of her shell and eventually she even started to acknowledge humans. Now we are still working on breaking her into riding, but unlike every other barn she has ever lived in, Ivy is actually part of the herd, always along side Solomon, she seems to fit right in and has started to grow into who she truely is a mare.

Periwig is terrified of the unknown, and will forever be very skittish. With years of impeccably slow and tiresome work, Perwig has mastered the lowly skill of halter led.
Whips, and anything that can be raised above his rump is mortifying, and would be cause to sprint across the entire length of the manor at full speed, ears pinned, rump tucked.
One thing Periwig is very good at doing though, is listening and watching. If you point to one end of the corral, he'll trot in that direction, and wait patiently for further instruction. He also likes to pick things up and throw them around, which is upsetting when he throws helmets around by the straps.
