The origin of this particular species is unknown. It is guess that it was the iqena who sparked the mythos of unicorns, pegasus, kirin, and hundreds more that have become legend. Thousands of years of speculation and wonder have led to the constant search of this elusive species.

Iqena are commonly friendly towards any creature of any world. Their peaceful souls only adding to the mystery of their vast variations. Even the youngest of iqena are clueless to their biological origin. Some say that they are born from the mind, much like the goddess Athena.

Name Meaning/Origin:
In Norse mythology, Skinfaxi and Hrimfaxi are the horses of Dagr (day) and Nott (night). Skinfaxi means "shining mane."
It is said that Skinfaxi pulled Dagr's chariot across the sky every day, lighting up the sky and Earth with his shining mane.

Personality:
Skinfaxi is a little adventurous guy, always looking for anything exciting and new to do. He really doesn't like showing himself to the humans that visit the island he lives on, but that doesn't mean that he stays out of sight, per se. He is a huge thrill seeker and loves getting close to the humans. He constantly does things behind their back, like sneaking up behind them and stealing their belongings only to drop them off with the stuff of another person to confuse them. He loves the shots of adrenaline he gets when he almost gets caught. He has to feel alive somehow.

Even if humans (which, are his entertainment basically) constantly visit the island, he still gets a little bored and lonely during the slow times. He especially feels lonely at night and the time just as the sun is rising. He feels something deep in himself telling him that he is supposed to be with someone, doing something important. He has never been able to pinpoint what exactly it is, and has resigned himself to it never going away.

When he does feel lonely though, he loves to chill with the wild horses on the island. Ever since Skinfaxi appeared on the island, they have gotten used to him. He is basically part of the "family" now. He cares for them greatly, and is always grateful when they cuddle up to him at night. Skinfaxi is pretty sure that they can sense when he is feeling lonely and sad.

Why This Song?

I chose this song because I feel that it represents true love. The story goes, two animals of a different species fall in love, but their love is frowned upon by others. Relentless of this, the two remain together and ignore everyone who says their love is strange and unnatural, proving just how much they care for one another.
Personality:
Sunset is a rather kind and loving Iquena. Her attitude towards others is a bit more than friendly, not always in a romantic way, but more in a motherly way. If she sees someone who's down and depressed, she comes over to help by mere instinct. It's almost as if she has too much love inside herself, and she must do all she can to give it to others. Perhaps that is her mission; to fill the world with love and care, so everyone can be peaceful and happy.

Sunset likes a variety of things, ranging
from watching the sun rise and set, to
cheering up others. She greatly enjoys
something that she calls "cloud hopping".
It's pretty much a game that consists of
jumping on clouds, as you may have guessed.
Who ever jumps on the most clouds by the end
of a set time wins, according to her. Sun bathing
is another things she enjoy, and can be seen doing
often. Warm, sunny days are her absolute favorite,
as it gives her a well-deserved chance to soak up
some warm sunlight into her fur. Believe it or not,
she often times falls asleep because the sun's warmth
feels like a blanket to her.

Sunset doesn't dislike much, to be honest.
Ill will towards others is one of the things she
despises most, though. She can't stand seeing
others act hateful towards each other, as she
believes everyone can get along and be friends
if they just give it a try. Judging by appearance
is another thing Sunset wishes didn't exist. All it
does is make some colder, and others hurt. She
believes judgement should be upon personality,
as that is where love and all other emotions are
stored. If judgement is done by personality and
soul, everyone would be happy, for everyone
would know if they are compatible with certain
others or not for certain.
