what is a whelkon?

A Whelkon is an old, rare and a quite undiscovered species that seems to resemble a wolf, an elk and a dragon.
With it's long, hooved legs, strong majestic antlers and a wise wolve's head, they seem the ultimate ancient creatures.
They have a soft, forgiving nature but a spirit that will never be broken.
Roaming our lands, trying to survive each day and hoping they won't get discovered by the greedy human hands.

Been a while since I've designed any; sorry it its off at all. I wanted something simple. Also I know I'm rusty. XD I will bring some my more airbrushed pallets to the table in the future here I think.

Story
~Lux Aurea, meaning Golden Light in Latin, is a kind and gentle Whelkon most of the time, yet strong, brave, and smart when he is protecting friends or family. He was born in an old mystic forest that he watched burn to the ground, and was left abandoned in its smoldering ashes. During his time alone in the remains of his home, he learned skills of survival and traveled for days, in search of a home with more resources, on the brink of death. He found another forest, full of healthy resources and cozy places. There, he found his parents who had abandoned him. He thought he would never find more of his kind or family, but apparently he thought like them and his mind led him right to them. He met another Whelkon later on and had a wonderful family, and now he lives happily with his own little family.~
