Name: Fuyuki Masaki Matsushita---I will be keeping his name, however it will now be his first name, and I've also now given him a new middle name which means "flourishing tree" - his last name will remain the same
Gender: Male
Why do you want him?: I am a non-owner at the moment, and have been for quite some time. Partially, this is my fault. I happened to run across this beautiful species and consider really getting involved just about the time the main adopts were shutting down. I tried out for a couple, and then just kinda dropped away. More recently, I saw an adopt going on from a nursery batch and scouted around - obviously, I found that while to main species were closed there were still many adoptions being held via nursery batches and quickly became excited. I have been really wishing for a Jelly Bean Dragon. I have one other form in the works and I can't wait to hopefully win my own JBD soon enough.
In closer relation to Fuyuki, I can't help but simply love his design. While I adore designs with flashy colors and complex patterns, there's something about this boy that catches my eye like crazy. The palette is gorgeous and that tree branch on his shoulder drives me wild! Everything with him seems perfect and the artist did a seriously amazing job on him. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for tree-branch designs, to be honest(I also have a slight obsession with #720). It would mean a lot for this baby boy to be my first Jelly Bean Dragon!
One extra: Short Story; His grey paws skimmed over the soft, white, shimmering snow. He left only the slightest of imprints in the snowy blanket. He was racing home from the schoolyard, his most recent art project strapped across his back. Out of all of his classes, art was by far his favorite. Fuyuki was an avid artist and was constantly improving. Today, he was most excited to show his father what he had been working on for the past month. His teacher had called it 'a profound piece of work.' Despite his happiness, the only commentary that mattered to Fuyuki was his father's.
With his home in sight, Fuyuki's fast-moving paws slipped and he fell head over heels before sliding to a stop. He spit out snow from his mouth and stood up, shaking himself out. He was wet and felt the cold seep into his fur. He walked the rest of the way to his home, starting to shiver and cursing his moments of clumsiness. Fuyuki trotted up the steps to his home and finally burst through the door.
"Father!" He called loudly.
Tochi's head came around the corner of the hallway silently. "Hello, Fuyuki. Home from school, I see!"
He nodded quickly, "Oh, yes, and I have something to show you!" He ran down the hallway and pulled his father with him to an open space.
"What is it, son?" As usual, his father's mask was close by to him. Fuyuki smiled broadly and detached his most recent art project from his back.
"Well, I've been working on this for a while, and didn't want to tell you about it or show it to you until it was perfect. A lot of people have really liked it and I really want you to see it now. Carefully, he held up the object. It was a beautiful mask, handmade by Fuyuki. Carved from a slab of wood and carefully smoothed out, and was nice to touch and gently stroke. It's base had been painted a soft, off-white color and had the most simple facial features sculpted into it. Masterfully, it had been painted in a way not unlike his father's way with light blue paint. Additionally, grey paint underlined the blue of the mask. and was dotted underneath the blank eyes.
Fuyuki displayed it proudly, a small smile spreading across my face. Tochi held up the mask gently, examining it. "This is wonderful, Fuyuki. Beautiful. The craftsmanship is excellent and incredible. I love this. Did you make this to impress me?"
"Thank you, Father. Not just to impress you. I wanted to be like you. I've always loved your mask, and I was hoping one of my own. My art teacher gave us a free-choice 3D project and I knew I had to do it. I'm glad you like it. I'll admit I'm proud of it."
Tochi smiled softly, "And you should be. Nice job, son."
Fuyuki strapped the mask over his face for a perfect fit and lifted his head to his father. In return, Tochi placed his own mask on. Fuyuki grinned beneath the wood mask and lightly hugged his father. Agile as a fox, he whisked away and took his backpack up to his room. He threw the backpack onto a chair and removed the mask from his face. Pulling another chair up and climbing onto it, he centered the mask on a wooden display shelf, for all to see. He smiled, and as Fuyuki pulled out his homework and papers and started working on his desk, he would cast a glance upon the mask every now and then and felt a burst of happiness.
I made that.
Thank you for this opportunity!
