While Odelia loves her sister Soda as they are complete partners in crime she doesn't see eye to eye about sodas opinion on bugs. "How can you love a pest!" odelia exclaims every time soda defends the bugs infiltrating her garden. All three sisters share a room and sodas constant and loud snoring bothers her as she is a very light sleeper. Odelia also finds annoyance in her sodas over baring nature. Odelia has pet lizards to protect her garden and eat sodas infiltrating bugs.

Meaning;; Althea - from the Greek althos "healing", also the name of the marshmallow plant, long believed to have healing powers • Pinja - a Finnish name meaning "pine tree" • Poodle - family name
Nickname;; Allie to her family, meaning "noble," or Thea to friends or classmates, which- fitting to her personality- means "godly."
Reason;; Althea is a name meaning "healing," which fits perfectly with this little bean's main hobby; healing through spirituality, especially in aromatherapy. It just sounds right in the family, for one: Doodle, Pine, Soda, Daphne, Ophelia, Floyd, and Althea. Though plenty of other names could fit as well, I like how Althea sounds with them! Of course the meaning also runs deeper than that: as I mentioned, Althea is a name that is rooted in healing. However, it is also the name of a plant- the Althea shrub- which is in the mallow family. Mallow symbolizes spirituality, and also love for one's parents. Though she is too young at the moment, when she is older Althea will have a multitude of spiritual interests- reincarnation and karma are among them- so mallow fits nicely with her personality. And, of course, both Doodle and Pine are the best mothers Althea could possibly have; she loves her parents more than anything else, except her siblings, of course. The mallow plant also stands for a long journey, which not only describes life in general, but the detailed and intricate paths Althea takes to achieve her goals. Mallow is used as an herb in many ways; it has therapeutic qualities, and the sticky-sweet sap inside of the plants can be used to treat bites and stings. Not only does Althea's name fit in with her family, but it has its own little niche in her personality and hobby, making it the best name I could imagine for her.

Pinja means "pine tree;" a name that not only comes almost directly from her mother Pine, but has a deep symbolism. The pine tree is associated with reaching for the stars; it symbolizes health, fortune and love, and stands under the deity Artemis, whose silvery and shadow-black colors match this bean just as well as her quiet air of mystery. Pine trees are also aligned with Pan, the Greek god of the forest- perfectly fitting for a nature lover like Althea. And as for medicinal properties, which especially interest this girl, the scent of pine makes a good inhalant to relieve congestion. Its invaluable oils are used for countless scents in aromatherapy, including those to cure antiseptic, antiviral, bactericidal, deodorant, and diuretic issues. Pine trees are known to help ease dark moods, renew energy, and can ease the pain of not being satisfied with your achievements- all very significant properties for Althea. From its personality traits to its connection to her mother, Pinja is a perfect choice for a middle name for this little bean.

Items/Accessories;;
- The first and most obvious accessory in Althea's collection is a pure black string around her neck. It seems to smell very faintly of smoke (and sometimes the cocoa butter shampoo she uses), which is a tad suspicious, but much more important is what is on the string. At any given time, there may be a dried leaf, a brightly colored flower, or perhaps simply an incense stick (not lit, of course) hanging from the cord. Each time she changes, a very different scent is given off, and it seems that Allie never wears the same one twice. It also appears that she never wears more than one thing at a time- never, say, a flower and a leaf simultaneously. However, her necklace is never found completely barren- as if she is afraid to not carry a scent with her. Allie calls it her "smell necklace," and wears it always, even when she sleeps. It seems that the herbs or incense sticks serve almost as a good-luck charm to her.

- Another one of Althea's prized possessions is her incense burner, very similar to this one. Though rather simple and not particularly extravagant or ornate, it serves its purpose for her well. It is small, only large enough to accommodate one or two incense sticks at a time- which is fine with Doodle and Pine, since it stops her form tipping it over and accidentally burning the house down. It also has a lid on it, which is incredibly useful for keeping herbs in when it's not in use. Even when it is, keeping it closed keeps ash and debris from the leaves from coming out through the top. wip

Quirks;;
- Althea has an odd tendency to watch candles. Most beans enjoy them for their scent or light, but the origin of Allie's obsession is completely unknown. It's completely normal for her to sit and stare off into space for long periods of time, but nothing like the hours on end she devotes to calmly observing them, just watching the little flickering lights. No one knows what's going on behind those emerald-green eyes; she can be so still that it is unsettling to witness, and she is never so focused as this. The only motion she makes in the long hours she sits for is a gentle swipe with her paw across the candle, sometimes leaving it suspended over the flame for a moment. Though she can't hold the position for long, because her downy fur tufts will catch fire, the little bean definitely seems to have a peculiar desire to be near the flames for as long as she possibly can.
- As one child in a family with five, Allie often finds that in order to get what she wants- especially if it's attention, as it usually is- she has to get a bit...creative. So far, the sole foolproof plan the little bean has discovered is to pout. With her pristine emerald-green eyes, she can get almost anything she wants, even if she has to be a bit manipulative. A little pout of the bottom lip, raised eyes and big, glassy tears are a few of the little tricks Allie uses to get exactly what she wants. wip

How does she deal?;;
...with trichotillomania?
Trichotillomania is a mental disorder characterized by the excessive pulling of one's hair from the head, eyebrows, or other part of the body. It is commonly described as being an involuntary response, in which the action is performed subconsciously, and often while doing another task: there are also documented cases of a pressure or tension being felt around the affected hair region, which is relieved by pulling the hair out. Trichotillomania, or TTM, affects 4% of the population and is often connected with other disorders such as OCD and/or anxiety (both this girl and I have all three). Allie is, unfortunately, affected by TTM in all of her head hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes.

...with anxiety?
Althea also has generalized anxiety disorder, or GAD. It, too, is connected to OCD in some cases, and is characterized by intense and excessive worrying, sometimes without reason for such. Those affected always seem to expect a disaster right around the corner, and are unable to stop worrying about everyday things such as health, family, friends or school. The longer and more extreme GAD becomes, the more it begins to interfere with the victim's everyday life.

Personality;; Without a doubt, Althea is one of the strangest young beans out there. While others play with their dolls or Legos or what-have-you, Allie is busy- well- being weird. She can often be found sitting in Ophelia's garden, and when asked, only says that she is "talking to the plants." Mysteriously, no matter how often she goes into the garden, not one plant is ever crushed. This is the only reason she's still allowed to go into the garden at all- because she has an odd ability to avoid harming a single plant- yet she insists that it's because the plants "like her." Aside from this odd occurrence, Allie is a rather tough baby bean. She has little fear of pain, if any, and seems to have an extremely high pain tolerance. Unfortunately, this ability to withstand injuries with ease seems to come with a drawback- Allie is a tad clumsy. Though she's no bull-in-a-china-shop, she tends to knock over drinks while reaching for them, drop dishes, etc. But this is not for lack of caring. In fact, Allie plans out everything with surprising detail. If she has to make a decision, she will think it over before answering, not just blurting out whatever comes to mind- a surprising trait for a six-year-old. Then again, being so young skews her logic slightly, and being the youngest child doesn't help. Though she's not self-centered, and is in fact rather modest, Allie can be a bit bossy at times. It's not so much that she likes getting her way as she thinks her ideas will work the best. Not that that isn't necessarily true- after all, she goes to great lengths to make sure that any and all of her plans are perfect. Planning is one of her favorite activities, be it for her daily schedule or something like one of her most recent projects, a new diagram for Ophelia's garden that she insists will "help the plants be better friends." One might almost say she plans obsessively....

THE ADOLESCENT

Gender Identity: Althea is genderfluid- however, she does not fluctuate between male and female, which is a common misconception for genderfluid people. Instead, she kind of fluctuates in a cycle between female, agender and a feminine non-binary gender, spending anywhere from two weeks to two months in one gender before shifting to another, with no particular pattern in the cycle. She tends to spend the longest in her female gender, and so feels most comfortable with she/her pronouns (it also helps that her non-binary gender is more feminine).
Sexuality: Allie has determined that she is demi-panromantic demi-gynesexual. (What a mouthful.) Essentially, it means that she will hold a romantic relationship with anyone, but is only sexually attracted to feminine characters and/or femininity.


Personality: "Life is hard and only gets harder"
- literally no fear of pain
- takes great pains to achieve her goals
- always plans things out extremely carefully, down to the tiniest detail; has OCD
- generally pretty optimistic, loves to laugh and have fun
- however take note: she is /very/ sarcastic

Growing up and preparing for the "big bad world" hasn't passed over Althea unscathed. After having a few rough years of dysphoria, disorders and self-discovery, she's become rather toughened and numb to the world, and is very wary of strangers. Though she has an optimistic view on life, that doesn't mean she hasn't been through hard times- and she certainly has her flaws. Allie is bold, reckless, and has a bit of an "ego issue," as her siblings call it. While she doesn't talk much through words, her
appearance at any given moment may tell you
enough. She proudly displays her nerdiness for
all to see; be it wearing a doctor who scarf
or playing her pokemon game (and getting
extremely frustrated) in public. If she is
forced to talk to 'normals' (i.e. beans who
do not fall in the category of a. extreme
nerd or b. tumblr user), she usually is not
the one to initiate a conversation. She lets the
other person do the talking and responds with
the most concise and short answers possible.
While talking, she often gets very nervous and
quite stuttery depending on the topic. Games?
Heck yeah, Chandra will be right on that topic
like butter on warm toast. Hanging out with
others? Sure, yeah, I guess. Talking about the
future? How about no. (personality is a wip)
