Poem wrote:Have you found my missing piece?
The piece that can finally complete me?
The piece I have been promised all my life,
the reason I have not given up the fight.
One piece remains far away and free,
a piece I hope will never reach me.
You Can Be My Missing Piece wrote:I watched as the broken girl stepped out of the car, her arms wrapped around herself and her eyes darting looking for danger in the area that surrounded her. Her were that of a desperate animal, searching for any possible way out, I watched from my paddock, wondering what had made this human girl so scared. As her dam went inside with my owner she slowly started walking towards me, I was quite suprised when she didn't turn towards the foal pasture, like every other person who had ever almost reached me, but then suddenly noticing foals, turned as if I was nothing. She came to me and held out her hand not beckoning to me like others just standing there and waiting patiently for me to decide; although her eyes rarely stay still, her arm remained steady and outstretched. I waited a few more moments before taking a cautious step towards her, like this human I often watched for danger, and even though she did not look dangerous; I knew danger came in many forms, it's most common form. Human.
The girl continued to wait as I took another, followed by a faster step until my noise was almost pushing against her hand, and yet we did not make contact. Simply we stared into each others eyes, her green eyes golding tiny flecks of gold as my own held tiny flecks of off white. Her arm remained out stretched and her face emotionless as we looked at each other, for once her eyes remained still; which meant that she felt safe, and if this scared human felt safe, I probably would feel safe too. I pushed my noise into the palm of her warm hand nuzzling it lightly, and I watched as her face softened, and let out a breath I had not noticed she had been hiding. What I did notice however was, the little tear that had escaped her shining eyes, "At least there is something good in this life." she whispered to me as she stroked my cheek and neck.
That was the day that I learned even a human, can be broken, and it is not the horse that does the breaking it is another human. However I also learned that a horse can replace a piece that has gone missing and make the pain of that missing piece fade away, with unconditional love.
