something like thisstory:
With every new horse that comes to Snowy Elk Anna loves to take them out for a ride around the farm to sorta show them their new home and for her to also get a feel for her new horse. So it was nothing new with Navajo. The ride seemed to go well the entire time till the two came to the creek. Navajo trotted all the way up to the water's edge then came to a dead stop. Anna softly put pressure the horse's sides with her legs and spoke encouragement to the horse but Navajo only swayed and paced at the creek bank. Anna tried to push him more and more but there was no progress being made. With a sigh Anna dismounted and walked up to the stallions face and rubbed his velvety nose. "You can do it" she told him with a smile. With his reins in her hand Anna stepped into the chilly water. She moved in the water till she was ankle deep. Navajo watched and began to paw at the water's surface. Anna gave a soft pull on the reins to encourage Navajo forward. After a good 5 mins of standing in the water Anna sighed. She walked back out of the water to the horses side. She grabbed the reins closer to the bit and tried to make him go forward again. Slowly Navajo placed one hoof into the water and then the other. Anna smiled and climbed back into the saddle with soggy boots. With a click of her tongue Navajo began to move forward. As they walked into the creek Anna gave Navajo his head. The water just barley touched his barrel. With his nose he pushed the water around and kicked with one of his front legs. Since then Navajo loves water and will go cantering through it.
