Kafeina
I chose the name "Kafeina" for this precious little
girl for several reasons. First of all, Kafeina- rather
obviously- means "caffeine." However, her name is
Basque, which is a very scarcely spoken language.
Besides the way her name just seems to roll off the
tongue, I consider that an "exotic" sort of name,
wouldn't you agree? It fits the criteria, and it also
matches one of her father's names- Java. After all,
java does contain plenty of caffeine! But "caffeine"
can also make one think of coffee- which brings me
to my final reason for her name. Coffee can be many
hues, from near black to a pale, creamy tan. This
girl's pelt contains many of the colors often seen in
coffee or similar products, so a name meaning
"caffeine" was a perfect match for her!

Just as her name would suggest, Kafeina is a bean who's always on the
go. Her body is constantly in motion, and she's quite the athlete- her
preferred sport is running, but just about anything goes. Keke is very
passionate when it comes to the things she loves, and will take abso-
lutely zero crap about it. One wrong word and her wound-up springs
uncoil, sending the fury of hell with them. Unfortunately, she might end
up getting in fights- perhaps even scarred like Erik, although her fear
of him may cause her to avoid taking a path like his, provided her
parents warn her of it. ("Don't get in fights, or you'll end up like Erik!"
Ah, I can hear it now...) Keke shares an incredibly deep connection
to each and every member of her family, and loves them all dearly.
She is incredibly defensive of them and all it takes is a single insult
to set her off- perhaps because it is her family that she is most
passionate about of all. Of course, she is a tad hyper and wound-up
all of the time, so that makes it difficult for her to focus on much
of anything for more than a few minutes. She's also rather scatter-
brained, and forgets things nearly constantly; this combined with
her lack of focus makes schoolwork difficult. Reading and writing are
especially hard for her, and though Keke is a decently intelligent
child, she most likely has some form of ADHD, which keeps her from
paying attention to anything for long periods of time. Keke much
prefers to go out exploring, sometimes for hours on end, and often
with her big brother Wicket. After all, the world outside of her house-
or the classroom- has much more exciting surprises in store, and
Keke is all about living life in the now! On the whole, Keke is very
outgoing, not antisocial in the slightest. She never shies from a
challenge and loves to meet new people or try new things! Perhaps
that's where she gets her sense of adventure from...New things
and surprises are certainly welcome to Keke, though. She has a
very optimistic outlook on life, always upbeat and refusing to
let anything or anyone get her down. Unfortunately, these outgoing
and highly social tendencies have a downside- Keke has become
rather talkative...to the point of being a blabbermouth. While
conversation is great, once Keke starts talking, she cannot stop-
and worse, she can't keep a secret. Despite her feistiness and
short temper- or perhaps just lack of patience- she truly is a
cheerful bean, and tries to make others happy. Keke has a strong
sense of justice, or right versus wrong, and always tries to make
the "right" decision based on the situation. Usually her choice is the
more ethical one, due to her being very fair. She's accepting of all
sexualities, races, and such, and though she's only six and
understands little of the technicalities of these things, she supports
LGBTQA+ rights. As she says, "Love is love!" Of course, this could
always be because she has two fathers- who have obviously taught
her that ideology- but she loves them both equally, and couldn't
imagine herself being happier in any other family. After all, at
the end of the day, despite her ADHD and constant hyperactivity,
her little flares of sarcasm or temper, and inability to focus-
Kafeina is a cheerful, hopeful, and excitable bean, with a taste
for adventure and a love for her family and anything new or fun.

Ⓚⓐⓕⓔⓘⓝⓐ ⓧ Ⓙⓐⓥⓐ
While Keke thinks Java is super cute when he's all flustered and nervous, she generally stands up for her quieter dad. She's extremely thankful for his loose rein and little control over her, though she rarely actually takes advantage of it due to her immense respect for him. Keke is young and therefore usually not mature, but she understands that Java is doing his best, and respects him for that- in a super-cute way. His love for botany is shared by Kafeina, and the two have a little garden plot in their backyard that they tend to together daily. This also allows Java to lead his daughter into loving books- she's already quite intelligent, but usually too hyper to focus on reading. However, if it's about plants, she will calm down long enough to pay attention. Such a gentle manipulation- not that Keke ever realizes it- is leading her to love him even more.

Ⓚⓐⓕⓔⓘⓝⓐ ⓧ Ⓟⓤⓓⓓⓘⓝⓖ
Just like with Java, Keke is grateful for Pudding's feeling of responsibility and yet acceptance of his kids. After all, he believes that she can do anything she wants to in life! Of course, she has no idea what it is that she wants to do yet, being only six, but she's grateful that she has a free range of choices anyway. Since Pudding assumes most of the work around the house, Keke often finds herself laughing at him despite herself, watching him running around to pick up dirty clothes or- as she seems to recall- him once trying to fix a broken sink. Despite all this teasing, though, Keke does love Pudding a lot, and does respect him as a father- she just treats him more leniently, as he is more laid-back than Java. There's also one very important trait that she inherited from him- she's incredibly defensive of all of her family members. Her fierce passion for them is very similar to Pudding's, which makes for a duo full of fiery love.

Ⓚⓐⓕⓔⓘⓝⓐ ⓧ Ⓔⓡⓘⓚ
Of all of her family members, Kafeina is by far the most uncomfortable around Erik. She is one-hundred percent legitimately terrified of her big(gest) brother. The main reason for this is his odd mask- since she is so young, and quite the blabbermouth, he doesn't trust her, and often feels uneasy around the overly-excitable little bean. Therefore, she doesn't know what's behind the mask- he's never trusted her enough to even take it off around her- and so she's scared of what's there, lying behind its blank white face. Her reasoning is "well, what if my brother just has no face?" That's a pretty scarring mental image. And so for the most part, Keke avoids Erik out of fear, which works well enough for him. Still, she loves him deeply, since he's part of her family, and would defend him into eternity.

Ⓚⓐⓕⓔⓘⓝⓐ ⓧ Ⓦⓘⓒⓚⓔⓣ
The bond between Keke and Wicket is one of the deepest in the family. Being the cute little shy-guy her brother is, she- the more passionate and outgoing bean, though perhaps slightly less dependable- always stands up for him. In some ways, her older brother seems younger than she is, though it's certainly not because of her maturity level. Since she's hyper and he's sensible, yet both of them are incredibly adventurous, they are commonly found as partners-in-crime within the family and go exploring all the time. The two are very close, and because of this, Wicket is perhaps more dependent on his little sister than any other sibling. Thankfully, Keke doesn't mind his clinginess and will always support her brother, which comes from her fierce defensiveness of her family. On the whole, though their similarities number few, their differences are enough to bring Keke and Wicket together as a strong pair. This little bean feels a very deep and personal connection to her big brother- though there are some aspects of him she doesn't understand, she will stand by him no matter what.

And here comes the dynamic duo, or as Keke would put it: "...and then there's him." Despite her snarky or even sarcastic words about her twin brother, she totally understands every part of him, and is incredibly close to him, perhaps just because they're twins. Though Keke has a personal and intensely loving connection to Wicket, these two share a deeper connection than any of the siblings...and yet they also argue the most out of all of them. They bicker over the littlest things, much to the annoyance of both of their parents, but their arguments don't mean anything- she loves Taj so much, and always forgives him. Taj may be gentle and sweet, but Kafeina is rough-and-tumble, and go-go-go; because of this, she's often confused at why her brother doesn't want to do "exciting new things" with her. She is a sweetheart, too, but her short temper and fiery passion separate the pair distinctly. Since she's extremely vocal but her twin tends to be reserved about his feelings, Taj can puzzle Keke at times. Yet on the whole, the two twins of the family are incredibly close, their intrinsic knowledge of one another binding them closer than anyone else in the family. And of course, they love each other to the core; Keke is willing to sacrifice nearly anything for her family.

2.) Quirks, Possessions, and Hobbies
⟾ True to her name, Kafeina absolutely adores coffee- as long as there's plenty of sugar in it! Java and Pudding only allow her to have decaffeinated coffee, but the sugar tends to make up for it....although, surprisingly- perhaps due to her ADHD- coffee has an inverse effect on Keke. Rather than firing her up with adrenaline, she actually becomes very sleepy! Once her parents figure this out, it'll be a foolproof way to get her asleep in minutes...for once.
⟾ Keke is absolutely obsessed with wearing hats and- though her parents swear it's "just a phase"- they've bought her six so far. Her current favorite is a big, floppy hot pink one, which she wears almost every time she goes out, except for school.
⟾ By far Keke's favorite animal is a cat, and one of her favorite shirts has one on it. Every time Christmas comes around, the begging begins again, but the answer is still no- for now! She also adores pugs, but for all their cuteness, Keke is much more of a cat person than a dog person.
⟾ lIf you couldn't tell by now, Keke loves bright and pastel-y colors. She doesn't have a favorite color (or so she says), but she does dislike some: namely black and dull or drab colors. This is likely a reflection of her personality, as she is very optimistic and upbeat, and almost never quiet or grumpy.
⟾ Keke enjoys being outside, and one of her favorite places is a spot in the woods not a quarter mile from the house. It's a sunny glade with a tiny, minnow-filled pond, with one lone willow tree near the center. She is absolutely enchanted by the bright little place, and loves to bring her big brother Wicket there to hang out after school each day.
⟾ One of Keke's favorite foods is waffles, which Pudding is thankfully willing to make for her most mornings. She enjoys dressing them up with various syrups, fruits, and other foods in creative and stylish ways. In fact, she loves designing waffle plates so much that the family nickname for them is "the fun food," because there are so many fun ways to prepare them!
⟾ Keke has astraphobia- she is afraid of rain and thunderstorms. The fierce flash of white-hot lightning followed by the deafening crash of thunder is enough to give her a headache, and rain means she can't go outside and play, which can be miserable at times. She's become more than annoyed with storms, though- one bad one about a year ago, when she was five, scared her so much that she didn't come out of her room for almost two days. After that instance, she's become rather wary whenever there's a storm alert on the news.
⟾ Kafeina absolutely loves how long her tail is, and can often be found running her paws through it, especially when she's bored or nervous. She is nearly constantly trying to find a new way to style it and delights in bragging to her twin brother Taj about how much longer than his her tail is- although he often responds by pointing out that he has a mane and bangs, where she has a mere "fluff-and-tufts". This occasionally causes bickering between them, but of course it's all in fun- in particular on the rare occasions when Taj lets Keke play with his hair.
⟾ Similar to her habits with her tail, Keke has picked up the funny tic of trying to count all of the spots on her fur. So far she hasn't really succeeded (though that may be due in part to Taj teasing her and saying he sees spots where she has none). Still, it's funny to watch the little bean go cross-eyed when trying to see the ones going right down her face! Her entire family pokes fun at her for this tiny little quirk, which often causes a flash of annoyance and maybe a harsh snap or two from Keke, but she always forgives her family- and then goes right back to counting.

3.) "I Am" Poem
I am always full of energy!
I wonder how my family and friends see me. Probably I'm weird and hyper, but that's OK.
I hear thunder sometimes, and even if it's far off, I get kind of scared.
I see pretty things in the forest with Wicket. Once we even saw a deer and her baby!
I want to go everywhere, and try new things and see new places and meet new people and do all the fun things in the world!
I am always full of energy!

I pretend that I can go anywhere. Sometimes in my mind, I really do go to those places!
I feel like I can do anything! The whole world is my oyster....or wait, the pearl is my world, or...oh, nevermind!
I touch the leaves in the forest, and sometimes I poke my brother Taj. (The leaves sounds nicer, though.)
I worry that it'll storm badly again, and our house or the forest might be destroyed. Even worse, I worry that our family might be separated! I love all my family.
I cry when I hear about storm alerts. Or when someone gets hurt, I hate it when people get hurt, it makes me feel really bad, especially when I can't help them.
But I am always full of energy!

I understand most of the stuff I'm taught in school...I just can't focus on it. I wish my teacher would learn that, instead of getting mad...
I say that I love my family, and that's true! I love a lot of people. I can't be angry at anyone for long.
I dream of being an explorer around the world! I want to go everywhere! Especially with Wicket, that'd be so fun, if he came with me anyway.
I try my very hardest in school, I really do! It's just that the words don't make sense on the paper. Does this even make any sense?
I hope I will see new things one day, and go to new places, and meet new people. It never gets boring!
Because I am always full of energy!
