- Au Revoir - The Front Bottoms -
Pop Punk Trash. For years she resisted the urge of listening to such bands as Neck Deep
or Modern Baseball, and yet The Front Bottoms have stolen her heart.
The song is a bit somber with a detached tone yet accompanied with
some beautifully stylized instrumentals & a quick lively tempo.
There's something so lovely about that contrast, about the contrast of all pop punk songs.
On another note, this is a great song to run to.
- Bright Spring Morning - Suburban Legends -
What teen doesn't grow up thinking that their hometown is a prison?
This song is all about moving forward with your life: taking that first hard step with a grin.
This is her pick-me-up song which reminds her that life isn't all about results,
its about taking advantage of what you've got now and living for the future
when the present is too dreary to stand. What she needs is "a long holiday".
Terra is self motivated which means that she's very lazy 90% of the time while the other
10% is reserved for things she truly wishes to achieve: such as, getting out and seeing the world.
- Kiss Me - Sixpence None The Richer -
There's a desperate sense of nostalgia which this song evokes in her.
She finds herself tucked up against a willow on the edge of a meadow at dusk,
the fireflies starting to flicker gently in the mist. She's never been to this heavenly place,
never heard the restless cicadas raise their voices or placid serenity of the still air, and yet she misses it.
This has always been on of her favorite songs and has inspired her to search the world for a place
that feels just as much like home as that melody does. All she wants in life is a place she can call home.
- Cell Block Tango - Chicago -
Musicals make the world go 'round. Whether it's Into The Woods or Pajama Game,
Terra adores them all. However, this song touches her due to the intensity and passion which is portrayed.
Terra is a generally soft spoken person, willing to let other have their way,
but if someone dares try to step on her or someone she cares for,
she becomes a righteously enraged woman. The end justifies the means in her eyes:
an opinion shared with the women of this song."It may be a murder but not a crime~" a bit macabre but true.
- Linoleum - Streetlight Manifesto -
Her favorite band of all time. This song, a cover of NOFX's rendition (punk band),
is about a simplistic life of travel and music. This counters her strong desires to have a permanent home.
Although seemingly paradoxical,Terra wishes to live her life both in constant movement
and noise while also having a safe haven called home.
