observant - luc tends to spend too much of his time observing the things around him, poking his nose into every nook and cranny in an attempt to always understand his surroundings as best he can and adjust with them. occasionally luc asks questions to accompany his searches, and his obsession with finding answers before anything else makes him easily come off as annoying, bratty and so on. however, it all takes turn if he ups his position in the hierarchy. when he's there to solve a mystery or a problem, he'll automatically have a higher rank, making it easier to get the answers he needs.

distrustful - as he has an investigator's mentality, lucien has developed trust issues from the start. whether it's only the little things such as who stole his food to who he can entrust his precious life to, luc is very picky when it comes to who to talk to. he is very difficult if one wants to wring any information out of him, so unless you're a close friend of him you can't expect to shell out much more than three words from him. and that doesn't even include a full sentence. never that.

quirky - yes, for someone like him, luc is very quirky. he has a habit of not using others' names when addressing them directly, only using 'you' or 'that person' instead of calling you out by name. he also rarely uses names in general unless he needs them to separate and differ whether he's talking about one person or the next. lucien also walks with a bit of a lopsided gait, his back left leg having been crushed in an accident once meant he had to be careful using it from then on. he speaks with a cold, almost emotionless voice that goes along well with his dagger-sharp glare, even when he's happy or trying to keep a light atmosphere. he also never seems able to finish an actual sentence, usually trailing off after saying a handful of words.

intelligent - along with his observant nature, lucien is very intelligent. he's experienced with piecing the puzzles of a mystery together and can theorize, chain events together, and so on. he has a broad range of general knowledge as well, which can lead to him acting higher than others due to his smartness. however, he is mostly down to earth and is able to use his mind for the greater good, keeping himself safe by making sure he always makes the right choices.

night person - you shouldn't expect to see luc's broad form in plain daylight, because he usually tends to wake around late afternoon and stays up until just before daybreak arrives. he doesn't know when the routine of his began, nor when he had messed his sleeping schedule up so badly that it made him practically nocturnal, but as of now he has no plans whatsoever to change his working hours. he remains always sleeping in the daytime, since he believes it's better for him anyway and frankly, he feels more comfortable at night.

like most, lucien was born just another individual. he had a family, friends, and an environment he loved to play about in. he had never been much of a runt, not at all in fact. his tall, muscular figure made him stand out along with the rest of his genes. luc himself never minded that, but the way it always made a few glares settle on his tail did cause some discomfort. made him wish he was just another guardian fox more than once a day. gradually it became a part of his life that he couldn't seem to get rid of.

growing up was relatively difficult for luc. but he somehow managed to keep up, although he did develop a few traits along the way. the fact that he walked with a limp would be one of those things, since it made for a story that couldn't be forgotten so easily. in fact, lucien knows he can conjure the memory up in seconds, but he hates to, knowing how many disconcerting things happened with each flashback.

it was night, it was dark, and that meant luc was awake. stretching his body to loosed his muscles and glancing around his small cavern where he lived. this took place when he was but a teenager, living alone. noting how rain had fallen recently, lucien carefully placed one paw in front of the of the other, his pawpads pressed against the rough rock. a trickle of water, a tiny stream faint as moonlight, streamed from the roof of his shelter and towards the exit. luc paid no attention to it and went outside, being exposed to the eerie, silent world of the night.

except it wasn't silent.
