My name is Tris, which comes from Bombus terrestris.
It’s the name of a bumble bee species.
My parents gave me this name because I was born close too a bumble bee nest.
I wasn’t scared of them, I just watched them fly around the garden and
loved to follow them just like all the other animals in our garden.
It didn’t take long before I started exploring the forest nearby our house.
My parents where always scared that I would get lost but I always found my way back!
I spent most of my days in the forest following other animals and learning
more about the way they lived.
I got older and I had to go to school, I was scared because I didn't know what to expect.
I wanted to spend my days in the forest learning about other animals, not things like math and such...
My first day of school was not what I expected, I thought that it would be boring but it wasn't!
I loved every lesson, especially learning to read!
I remember learning my first words, it felt great! After school, I immediately ran to the library and took a few books.
I hid myself in my favorite forest with my books with me, trying to find the words I learned that day and trying to learn new ones.
I kept repeating that every day and now I'm the best reader and writer in class! I have read over 150 books now and I still read a lot.

You might think that my best friend is a plumie but actually it's a ferret named Milla!
Of course, I have many plumie friends in school but Milla is very special to me.
One day, I was reading my favorite book until I suddenly heard noises coming from the bushes.
It sounded like small scratching sounds and cracking branches, I got scared and almost
ran away, until I saw her cute little ferret face, she was adorable but she looked so tired!
She was covered in mud and it looked exhausted so I decided to take her home and take
care of her.
It was difficult because I didn't know much about ferrets but in the end, it was all worthy because
it didn't take long before she started trusting me and she became a true friend!

I want to be a writer when I get older but not just any writer of course!
I want to visit other countries and write about the stories other plumies tell me,
I want to write about the things I see and I want to write about the things I learn!
I want to take a thousand pictures and send cards to my family!

Welles:
Welles is the guy that everyone wants to be around, the consummate performer. He doesn't let many people past his shell of loud and funny, but once you do that he's honestly got a heart of gold. He cares deeply about those he's close to, and doesn't take betrayal easily. He's extremely headstrong, won't take no for an answer unless there's no other option, and and an unquenchable thirst to both learn and tell the truth- lying, outside of performing, does not come easily to him.

Katydid:
Katy is almost the polar opposite of her father. Where Welles is loud and funny, a natural leader and the life of the party, Katy is pretty quiet, introverted, and not the type to seek out companionship (although she'll happily take it if it's offered). She can be somewhat oblivious to things that would be obvious to others, like relationships or more subtle body language, so she can come across as rude simply because she doesn't fully "get" what's going on. She wanted to be an actor for a long time because she found it was easier to be someone else and interact with others than to be herself in the same situation. She tends to use pop culture references to get points across because tv and movies and books make more sense to her than real life. The only thing she loves more than the media is music, especially orchestral music, and refers to her french horn as her "baby."

hey guys! Just a bump, and a quick note that I'm home for now and will be until Monday, after which I will be on a school trip and more or less unavailable.

Also a reminder- this is an impress us contest. I realize it's relatively early in the proceedings, but I should point out that the reason we have a limit is so that you don't go overboard. However, the more you have in terms of character development and extras, the better chance you have to win.
