General Info
Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

Your first encounter:
I squinted through the dark, barely able to see my own hand in front of my face. The night was moonless, but even if there had been a moon it wouldn't have mattered. A layer of black clouds blocked out any light, plunging the world into darkness. I was fairly certain I was lost at this point. I should have reached my destination over an hour ago, but instead I was still wandering blindly through the forest.
The eerie hooting and howling of the night creatures did not help calm my anxieties one bit.
I was about to just sit down and give up, try and find my way in the morning, when I spotted light specks not too far away. Stars, I thought to myself. The clouds must have parted up ahead. So, I picked up the pace, practically jogging towards the stars. Finally, I would be able to find some light.
But as I drew closer, I noticed that these peculiar stars were not up in the sky, but rather they seemed to be floating in the air. I became more cautious in my advance, trying to figure out what exactly I was approaching. A strange sound echoed around me, something like a horse's call and a bird's song mixed together. Then, the creature- I had now determined that this was a living being- turned towards me, and I realized what it was. The stars in its mane and tail sparkled, as if by their own light. I froze in place, admiring the beauty of the creature for a long moment. Then, barely aware of what I was doing, I approached, careful not to blink.
With a gentle snort, the creature lowered its head, the magnificent horn that crowned it grazing my shoulder.
