Mallory uses it's tattoos simply

to cover up it's embarrassment

of being fur-less. It's affinity for

snakes is why they have snake

tattoos however the stars are

another story.

however for all the wrong reasons.

Malory has been in the Freakshow spotlight ever since it was 5. It was put their by it's mother, embarrassed by their daughter and refusing to only call her "it". The phrase "put their" is far from the truth, Mallory was truly abandoned there. The tattoos cover up its past and its bare skin, both things it longs to forget and loose. Stars on its arms represent how something so trivial could have been so close to its reach but are actually so very far away. Its eye is a sign that it bares no weakness. Mallory cires its tears and shuts its eyes yet its third eye remains there rigid and tough, as if implying not all of it is weak.

Story behind the tattoos:
The watchful Eye
Ahri is sworn to an order bent on protecting. She is a watchful eye. That is all she will ever be and it is displayed proudly.
The servant's Chains
The Oriikae family makes it known that they are never their own. They are servants, slaves, to their duty. They serve till they die.
The Seal of approval
The mark on the back of her neck/shoulders is a seal. This testifies that she has been deemed worthy and is thus now inseparable from her purpose.
The Weave of unity
The tattoo on her tail base represents her unity with the order. This she has had since a pup when she was marked right after birth.
The Tally of progress
The tally on her arm records her level of training. Each level has one bar of tallies. She has 4 bars, each of 7 tallies.

Ahri was born into a family of protectors, linked by a long lineage of guardians. Sworn to protect by an unknown debt from so long ago it was forgotten, the Oriikae family are watch dogs. They had no origin or hometown, no nation or alliance to a certain area of family, or at least not now. Originally they owed someone, somewhere, but now they cover a vast area of clientele. When they are hired, they swear to protect you until death does part them, or until the contract is fully fulfilled. Most times the contract goes for a lifetime, but it isn't uncommon to only have small jobs that hold them only for a few months. Now, understand this very clearly. All in her family are born into this business. It owns you. It is you. You are an Oriikae and there is no way to escape it. Ahri is proud of her family line and her lifestyle. While others may feel trapped by it, Ahri could never imagine any other lifestyle. For all her life, this has been her purpose, the point to her existence. It defines her identity. She is an Oriikae, a sworn protector. That is all she will ever be. To her, to be Oriikae is to serve others without hesitation, to be there for them, much more than protecting them. When she swears to someone, she means it with all her heart. It isn't just a job, it's a passion, it is her life and love. She couldn't ask for anything more than to serve her client, and it would be an honor to die for them.

Her hairless appearance is part of her family line and is used so that they may mark their own easier. Tattooing a furred body is much harder. Her tattoos give her a sense of power in the unity of her family, and any part about her beauty is promptly ignored.

Ahri is more than proud to serve.

Story behind the tattoos:
Talismans, charms, and seals; only the essentials of course, but also highly accessible when in a pinch. It seemed like a crazy idea to have so many different symbols etched into his skin at first, but as his job got more and more active, it has kept his hide safe dozens of times. Though he claims to be a simple priest, he deals in many facets of the spiritual; even tussled with beings outside of Judeo-Christian lore.
Of course, each tattoo progressed through his career, first his protective talismans on his shoulders and chest, and then two more circles on his forearms after dealing with some nasty witches. Not to mention his secretive seal on his left ankle for emergencies. The seals, were borne out of a necessity to aide in banishing demons and nastier dark spirits. After dealing with one too many without them, he broke down and put up the money to attain them.
It was hard to plan out how they would work, etched upon skin, but he found that mixing up compounds of the ingredients needed and tracing them when he needs to activate them worked out perfectly.

Story behind the tattoos:
Andrew grew up in Egypt with his grandfather, who actively worshiped Thoth the God of Wisdom. His grandfather had interesting ideals, and wanted Andrew to worship Thoth as well.
This is the story of how and why Andrew got his Tattoos ;
"Andrew." Grandfather called from his room of worship. It was odd for him to be called while his grandfather was praying, during which time if Andrew uttered a word above a whisper he would be rebuked and then ignored for the duration of the week. Andrew was seldom spoken to by his grandfather at all, so even a few words meant a lot to him. So he stayed silent during the time that his grandfather prayed.

"Andrew come to me." It wouldn't be smart to sit and ponder why he was being called ; Andrew had done that before and it did not end well. So as he should, Andrew walked through the small but snug house to where his grandfather sat cross-legged, the faint scent of berries and fine meat. He had no doubt been burning offerings before he called to Andrew

Andrew had always respected his grandfather, for numerous reasons. His devotion to the god Ra and the god Thoth. His familiar smile, which like all good things was seldom there. His ability to retain an aura of calm at depressing times, all admirable things. But Andrew had never felt a sense of love for his grandfather, whom was never affectionate nor kind. It had hurt when he was younger, just mourning the death of his beloved mother, but as time passed he learned that he would never receive love from his grandfather.

"Yes grandfather." He answered holding his hands behind his back. "You summoned me?"
"I am going to die." Grandfather answered with his usual solemn expression.
"Grandfather, forgive me for being rude, but you have said this many times in the past month and none of you predictions have come true."
"This time I really will die."
