It's a bit of an odd name but I'll explain. When I first saw them I thought they looked like rippling water so when I found the beautiful color palette below (Which looks like muddy water, thus the name) it felt like it fit them perfectly and it made me think of how not many plumie designs have taken advantage of putting these two beautiful colors together. So why not have an adorable little mud featherbutt. :3
