Overview and History
════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
The origin of this particular species is unknown. It is guess that it was the iqena who sparked the mythos of unicorns, pegasus, kirin, and hundreds more that have become legend. Thousands of years of speculation and wonder have led to the constant search of this elusive species.
Iqena are commonly friendly towards any creature of any world. Their peaceful souls only adding to the mystery of their vast variations. Even the youngest of iqena are clueless to their biological origin. Some say that they are born from the mind, much like the goddess Athena.

he looks after war veterans, those who are wounded, crippled, suffering from ptsd, homeless, or living in poverty. prometheus protects them from further misfortune as well as he can, and send them hope and support to get them through their hardships.
story:
the fire-colored iqena strode slowly along the edge of the cliff, claws and hooves clacking softly on the rock, accompanied by and occasional thunk as one of his useless limbs hit a protruding rock. his piercing gray eyes surveyed the landscape below, picking out details that no human would be able to discern with the naked eye. there- his eyes narrowed and he paused, feathers ruffling. focusing on one spot in the town below, his twin pairs of wings spread, framing his darker red crest with a halo of orange and golden hues for a moment before he swept them down, effortlessly propelling his body into the air. he hovered for a moment, wings beating strongly, two pairs of legs tucked up next to his body and the third swaying gently below him. a shifting of the angle of his wings sent him gliding forward, a slight smile curling the corners of his mouth at the feeling of flying. the cool air ruffled his bright feathers as he winged his way towards the town.
having touched down in an alley, successfully evading human detection, he cautiously peered around the corner to see his intended target. a hunched, cross-legged figure shivered on the sidewalk, a threadbare blanked pulled around his tense shoulders and a ragged cardboard sign propped on his bare feet that read; ARMY VETERAN. PLEASE GIVE FOOD AND MONEY. the iqena's feathers ruffled angrily as the townsfolk went about their business, heads held high and ignoring the figure at their feet, who had gone out and fought for them and was called a hero, until he came back home with a skull full of nightmares and one less arm. the phoenix-esque creature sighed, carefully laying down on the cold concrete of the alleyway so as to arrange his six limbs comfortably. tucked in the shadows, but still with a clear view of the man, he inhaled deeply and then exhaled, expelling a burst of heat and hope with his breath. the wave hit the man, who shuddered, his spine involuntarily straightening and eyes widening. the iqena continued to breathe deeply, watching as the warmth and hope lulled the man into the first peaceful sleep he'd had in months. as the aura around him affected the passerby, a few stopped to place money in a cup by his sign, and one even returned to the spot with a few grocery bags and a pair of socks and boots. this man cautiously shook the other awake, and his face lit up with gratitude and simple happiness at the kind gesture, and he wrung the man's hand profusely, tears in his eyes as he thanked him over and over again.
the iqena sighed tiredly, standing slowly and stretching his legs and wings from where they'd been cramped for hours, his energy drained by his efforts, but the dull ache of his body overwhelmed by the quiet warmth and pride in his deeds. he knew he couldn't help all the war veterans that came back scarred, but he would still continue to marginally improve their lives, one at a time.
