Personality;;
Avi, as she prefers to be called, is very independent. She can take care of herself and knows it. She strongly dislikes being told what to do and, if given orders, is most likely to disregard what was said. No matter how hard she tries, respect is a difficult practice for her. She believes that experience beats age, so "respect your elders" is almost enough to make her laugh. The number of people that she will actually listen to is almost painfully small. Plus, she likes to avoid those that have earned her respect. Worthy of respect or not, she still dislikes being told what to do. Being somewhat of an introvert, she draws energy from being alone. When near others, she finds her energy slowly slipping away and holding a conversation may as well be an exercise. Thanks to this, she prefers to be alone with her thoughts and maybe the wildlife. This is slightly linked to the fact that Avi is an escapist. Unfortunately, she thinks that she can run from her problems because this method has seemed to work for her so far. She's sure to ignore the voice in the back of her head that says it all will catch up to her one day. She'll just have to run faster. Although she's highly prone to argue, it's extremely unlikely that Avi would inflict harm to anyone. She used to be quite the fighter, but ever since she's gotten her scars, she's mellowed out. Surprisingly enough, she hardly ever uses sarcasm or insults. She prefers to simply use common sense and her wit to outsmart others. She's actually peaceful as long as she's not provoked. Aviana is an adventurer and dislikes staying in one place for an extended amount of time. In fact, most of her entertainment comes from exploring her surroundings. Even when on the move, she tends to be twitchy. Either her tail-tip always seems to be moving back and forth or her claws are impatiently tapping on the ground. With her tomboy-ish attitude, one may expect her to be the clumsy sort, but she's actually the polar opposite. Avi has exceptional balance and coordination. Her movements are almost always graceful and filled with purpose. She likes to make sure she knows what she's doing before she does it. Unfortunately, her imagination is somewhat restricted to what she has seen and felt. It's hard for her to understand things unless she's actually been there and experienced them herself. Whether the glass is half full or half empty, it's difficult to tell with her, but she is slightly more of an optimist and a pessimist. If nothing else, she's typically upbeat.
Limitations;;
--Although many emotions and thoughts will make it
difficult to summon her wings, fear is the one that
completely blocks them out. It's possible for her to
be feeling anxious or sad and manage a brief moment
of concentration for her to summon them (dangerous,
but possible). Fear, on the other hand, will make her
mind far too cloudy. It's much easier to ignore one's
sorrows for a second than to ignore an impending
threat. At least, to her it is. If her wings are already
out when she begins to experience fear, they will
begin to slowly break down, fading in about five
minutes.
--If there is not enough space for her wings to be out
wherever she is standing, nothing will happen. So,
calling up her wings indoors, in caves, or other small
spaces is not possible. Holding her wings upright to
save room does not count. There must be room for
her full wingspan. No matter how hard she's tried
to bypass this rule, nothing seems to work. It's
probably better that way since she's most likely hit
them on something in the tight space and make them
disappear.
--Summoning her wings take energy and if she doesn't
have the amount that is required nothing will happen.
Unfortunately, she is able to call up her wings if she
has enough energy for two or three minutes of flight.
This can be very dangerous, especially if she isn't
paying attention to the time. Her only warning
is how exhausted she is.
Weaknesses;;
--If hit, her wings will flicker out. This includes running
into objects, lightly nicking something, or even being
shoved to the ground. Her wings are extremely
delicate, so it's better just to avoid everything if she
wants to use them.
--Her wings sap her energy when they are active. It
doesn't happen very quickly, but after the first hour
or so, she can start to feel it draining away. The
longer she has them out, the faster her energy
will fade. It takes a full seven hours until she'll
pass out from exhaustion.
--If her wings are left active when she's unconscious,
they could sap all of her energy away, killing her in the
process. Because of this, the has to be careful not to use
her wings when she's already tired.
--Cold weather is both difficult and dangerous to
fly in. This is because her wings are quite warm,
due to being made mainly from light. With the
quick transition from hot to cold, her wings can
begin in crack if the outside temperature's low
enough. This effect isn't permanent and her wings
will repair themselves in warmer weather.
--Her mind must be clear to summon them.
If she's not thinking straight or too stressed out,
she won't be able to focus on activating her wings.
Therefore, nothing will happen.
--Her flight is restricted to clear skies. If she tries
to fly in strong winds or storms, the air currents
would likely carry her away.
Quirks;;--She is most active at dawn/dusk. She finds the temperature better than
the heat of the day and the chill of the night. She also likes the dim light
that coats the ground in the colors of the setting or rising sun. Things are
either just beginning to wake up or starting to go to bed. Either way, it's
peaceful and quiet out.
--Avi doesn't have a regular sleeping schedule. She sleeps when she's tired
and wanders when she isn't. She takes a lot of cat-naps, which could lead
to the impression that she's lazy, while in reality, she hardly ever gets a
full eight hours.
--She has a habit of holding her breath when she's thinking hard about
things. It isn't an intentional habit and most of the time she doesn't
even realize she's doing it. Normally she realizes "Oh, I can't breathe."
and has to stop herself.
--She loves the feeling of wind rushing past her, as if gives her a
feeling of excitement. This is a very dangerous thing to like when
one has paper-thin wings that could break at any second. Let's just
say that if Aviana wasn't very good at flying, there might not be
an Aviana at this point in time.
