    Username: OutFoxed
    Barn: Foxtail Stables
    Show name: Bucephalus' Flight
    Call name: Gorgon
    Gender: Stallion
    Age: 4 years old
    Height: 16 HH
    Breed: American Warmblood
    Discipline: N/A
    Stud fee: N/A

Behind the Breed: As soon as I saw the coloration and the type requirement, I instantly thought of the American Warmblood. With the Americas known for boldly patterned horses filled with splashes, spots and bright coloration, the American Warmblood embodies the colors with the athletic abilities of a warmblood. The conformation of this Bay Tobiano truly shows through the American Quarter Horse and American Paint Horse bloodline while the athleticism comes from the American Thoroughbred and the heavier warmblood build type from the working draught Percheron, Normandy Cob and possibly the Irish Draught. While his ancestry is full of a smörgåsbord of breeds, his recent lineage is pure American Warmbloods registered in the American Warmblood Registry and the American Warmblood Society.

Behind the Name: This stallion's markings display an extraordinary pattern and I immediately was thinking something with Wings - Pegasus and the like. I've always loved the story of Alexander the Great's Bucephalus which became the inspiration for his show name. Bucephalus was known for having an 'Ox-head' as it's the meaning behind his name and having a wall-eye, I believe that Bucephalus' Flight matches well - a less than perfect head and his off eye is going to be a wall-eye. The ancient horse was described as afraid of his own shadow - this stallion's disposition follows this with a hope to also follow the Great's fierceness in battle and competitions. The second part clearly comes from the wing marking.
His barn name comes from the Pegasus myth - as Pegasus was born from the God Poseidon and the Gorgon Medusa. This stallion wasn't worthy of a cliche name such as Pegasus nor snake-y enough to be fully Medusa. As a Gorgon though, he might take on the ability to 'Poison' or 'Heal' depending on which vial of blood was drunk, but hopefully he won't turn people into stone. Truly I hope he embodies the fierce determination and bravery of Bucephalus as well as the Healing aspect of the Gorgon while taking the protective nature of both namesakes.

Good luck everyone!

hello, bonjour
please call me believe

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

I'm going to use the raffle prize, 'train a horse twice a week for a month', on Gorgon.
May I double train him today? Or do you want me to space it out throughout the week?
