Extras:
Personality: "a wild resourceful mare who never backs down from a challenge!/She is the caring type". Hestia often comes off as an overly aggressive and somewhat scary mare. Under that rough exterior Hestia really has a heart of gold. She adores foals especially and would do anything to protect her family and friends. You have to get very close with her before you see this side of her, as she is very wary of strangers.
History:
4 months old
Hestia craned her neck out around her mothers leg, trying to watch her father fight the opposing stallion the herd had come across. Her father looked so strong as he reared, teeth bared and lunged at the other stallion. The two stallions slammed into one another and Hestia could hear their teeth gnashing as they lashed out at one another. Finally her father spun and gave the intruder a sharp kick to the side. Nearly falling the enemy stallion took off, his ears pinned and eyes full of shame at his loss. "I wanna be big and strong just like daddy!" Hestia whinnied excitedly, her mother looked down with a smile. "I am sure you will be, you have his temper after all!" she chuckled, nosing Hestia before she headed over to check if her mate was okay. Hestia followed behind her mother, daydreaming about being a big strong mare.

Hestia sighed as a she saw a young stallion approaching the herd. She turned and saw that her father hadn't noticed yet, great she would have to talk to another one. "You are the prettiest mare I have ever seen!" the young stud exclaimed, walking about Hestia as he watched warily for the band stallion. "How about you leave me alone?" Hestia grumbled, starting to walk away. He walked in front of her and shoved her back, "NO, you WILL be mine" he said, pinning his ears back and starting to lower his head into a snaking position. Hestia was enraged, did they just think they could shove her around!? Well maybe most mares could be...but not her. Baring her teeth Hestia dodged to the side, "Don't, you, dare" she said in a low, rage filled tone. "Ha! what are YOU going to do....your a mare!" he laughed, lunging forth and beginning to snake her. Hestia shrieked in protest and without warning, slammed her right back hoof into his chest. He wobbled and stood in shock for a moment. He was about to go back at her, more angry than ever now, but he was too late. Hestia reared up and struck him with her front hooves, he turned and fled from the enraged mare but she chased him a good ways before letting him go. A smile came across the young mares face as she trotted back to the herd. Her mother met her, "Hestia! I went to get your father when I saw, how did you get away?" she questioned as she nosed her daughter. " I fought him off" Hestia replied proudly. Her dam just shook her head as Hestia's father cantered up to them. Hestia's mother glanced over at the stallion, "Did you here that? I told you she was just like you" she nickered. Hestia looked over at her sire, who smiled and responded with, "Indeed she is, our Hestia is an extraordinary little mare".

Hestia was grazing calmly alongside her family, the warm sun was beating down on them, while a soft breeze tossed their manes and tails. The wonderful day had lulled the herd into a false sense of security, they didn't hear the humans approaching. Suddenly the calm was shattered by a high pitched whinny of terror from one of the mares. Hestia's head jerked up and fear filled her heart, there was a huge group of humans racing toward them on their tame horses. The herd turned tail and ran, all of the horses galloping with all they had, but the humans had gotten pretty close before anyhorse noticed. Hestia was one of the fastest horses in the herd and was a good five or six strides ahead of the others. She of all of them had the best chance of escape, until a high pitched cry of terror sounded behind her. Hestia knew instantly it was a youngster and spun around, despite the cries of the herd telling her to just keep going. One of the ranchers had gotten a lasso around one of the youngest foals, and was dragging the poor thing toward him. Hestia raced forth and grabbed the rope, allowing the loop to loosen enough for the foal to wriggle free and take off. As she turned to follow, Hestia felt a rough loop slip over her head. The loop tightened quickly and before she knew it there were mores ropes upon her. She fought as hard as she could, but there was just too many and in the end one of the humans got a loop around her front legs. After that she was pulled to the ground and then she knew it, there was no escape now.
4-current day
After her capture Hestia was dragged to a place of corrals. She galloped about the small pen as fast as she could, desperately trying to escape. The cries of other captured horses were coming from all around her, but more trying than any if it was the fact that she was alone. Hestia felt tears brimming in her eyes as she thought of her family, her family that she would probably never see again. ....... Hestia stayed there for a few weeks, slowly getting more and more depressed. Eventually the humans tried to break her, they couldn't even get near her. She was so enraged that she had become extremely aggressive. It only took two injuries before they had her on the list to be shipped off. One day, for the first time in forever, the gate into the round pen opened. Hestia raced forth if hour thinking, and found herself in a metal box alongside other horses. It started moving and Hestia started kicking, she was determined to escape. A crack suddenly filled the air, the trailer was old and Hestia had managed to break the boot on the outside of the door. The other horses surged forth behind her and Hestia was shoved out of the trailer. Hestia crashed out onto the hard aged road and was trapped beneath the see of flailing legs. The other mustangs raced free, running out into the wilderness, while Hestia lay half dead on the road..... the man driving the trailer was enraged a losing the horses and took off, leaving the wounded mare in the road. A short time later another person came upon Hestia and called around for someone to help. Nyra ended up coming for the wounded mustang. She healed her up and the two actually bonded, even though Hestia still despised most other humans. Not knowing where Hestia's herd was, Nyra decided to keep Hestia and named her for her fiery and yet loving nature. Hestia is kept in a huge paddock and Nyra rides her in the wilderness quite often, so the mare doesn't feel trapped and can still feel somewhat wild. Seeing how the mare looked at the foals, Nyra took her to a handsome Appaloosa x Friesian stallion. 1 year later Hestia had a gorgeous filly which Nyra promptly named Heart of Fire AKA Merida. ...... Hestia lay in the massive field, her young filly by her side as they enjoyed the warm sun. She was at peace, though she did sometimes wonder where her wild family was these days....she had found herself a family here now.
