Lucky Paw;; That one white paw earned him the nickname Lucky, as it's a good luck charm. As a pup he got into some trouble injuring the paw to the point of unlikely to be able to race, but with time it healed and lead him into a great dog.
Behind The Name;; With an injured paw, living in a house with a young girl that loved The Lion King, he'd always be there when it was played. The dog had been mesmerized by Zazu the bird.Eventually they just adapted to the little girl calling him Zazu that it stuck. To go along with the name they had to of course Gove him an orange harness like the character's bright beak as well as a plush Zazu the canine cuddles with at night.
Training;; Pain. Aggravation. Zach was a stubborn little butt duck and training him was relatively near impossible. Trying everything from toys, treats, clicker training nothing would get his attention. Never had they had a pup so hard to train until Zazu. His teeth would chew through the collars and harnesses they tried to use and near the breaking point they tried something new. Music. From a young, able to be molded age he'd been around music. With in a course of several long months they used music, teaching him to do commands with phrases of a song he took interest and scolding him with music he didn't like.

"This here is the story of how I came across my best and first racer, and companion.. Adolphus"


My name is Kit, I have been wanting to lead my own team of sled dogs since I can remember. When I was finally able to start my own team I began to gather everything necessary, raising as much money as I could. I would get books and research online, I wanted to know everything I possible could so I could be the best I could possibly be. I even got to talk to a few retired racers and gain some experience with them. After about a year, I had gotten all the necessary things for owning and and racing dogs, and knew all about the world of sled dog racing. Except for the actual dogs.
At this point it had completely slipped my mind...Yeah I can be incredibly forgetful, trust me I beat myself up about it for a long time afterwards. Anyway, I began going on the search for the right dogs. I had already lost the majority of my budget and couldn't afford the best of the best. I found someone a week later. He was a very private breeder and only people who are recommended to him are allowed to even know about litters. The puppies were absolutely adorable, I got to meet the parents and found out they were champions in their time. The breeder told me the prices for each of them. They cost just a bit too out of my budget and I was disappointed. I had explained to him my situation, telling him I could not afford the pups. He stood there, a thoughtful expression on his face and led me to another room. In it he showed me my best friend, Adolphus. He was in an incubator and incredibly small. The man told me he was the runt of the litter, and I could take him for free, since he didn't expect him to live past his puppyhood. I accepted, and left. A few weeks later, I received a call and came back and got to meet the pup again. He was healthy and had grown huge. He was quiet but curious. That same day I got to take him home and he grew up to be the most loyal and hard working dog I know, my friend Adolphus the runt.
