For those who know Meili, you would know how sweet and good-natured this mare truly is. After all, she isn't called "the lovely one" in old Norse for nothing. Everyone who knows her feels instantly like her friend. She's just so chatty and loveable that you can't possibly dislike her (unless your Kvasir of course) and is also why she wouldn't say a bad thing about anyone. That itself was why still to this day, people talk about Meili's infamous outrage.

Meili doesn't have any sort of short fuse or anything, which was why one summer day, everything was so different. When she was a yearling, she was romping around with other fillies and colts her age when their playing got too rough. There was always a smaller filly who used to try and play who was ostracized. She was sickly looking and was born before everyone else but she was a good friend of Meili's so she had to be included.

That day, Meili's friend seemed to be the centre of attention, but naturally not the good kind. The others divided up, surrounding and jostling the tiny filly while keeping Meili at bay. Meili tried to get to her friend but couldn't get past the burly colts holding her back. When one of the prissier fillies bit down on her friend's ear, causing a yelp, Meili lost her mind.

Never in anyone's time had anyone seen Meili in such a rage. She turned against her prison guards and grappled both colts into submission and scared the fillies away. She snorted and drove off the bystanders and then made sure her little friend was okay.

When the two of them finally returned to the harem though, word had spread like wildfire how sweet little Meili had a temper worse than the gods. So even now, everyone loves being around Meili but no one will ever try to tick her off ever again.

She dreams of dressage...and the beach...and something that feels like home.

Saga was separated from her herd and lost in the desert when she was a yearling. The only thing that carried her through the first few weeks were her dreams of her herd. She held on to the belief that she would find them, even though she knew it was next to impossible. They moved too much and it had been too long.

She eventually wandered close to humans...a training stables at the edge of the desert. She would spend her days hidden in the dunes watching the humans and the horses that they interacted with. This is how she fell in love with dressage. The graceful, fluid movements made her forget everything but what she was watching. She started to pass the days mimicking the movements she watched; graceful gliding across the sand in a dance all alone.

The longer she watched, the braver she became and she started coming closer and closer to the arenas; so close sometimes that she could hear the humans as they spoke. There was one young girl who rode daily and always told her horses stories. Saga's favorite story is the one about training on the beach. The young girl spoke of the beach in a way that made it feel like if Saga closed her eyes she could transport herself there.

The sand, warm and soft but not uncomfortably hot, it moved and changed just like the desert sand except for at the shoreline. There is where the sand met the sea and transformed into a hard, packed surface that clung to your feet and legs. The ocean; a vast body of water that was in constant motion, much like the sand. It hit the sand in waves, a never ending meeting between land and water. The sound of the waves was a constant dull noise, soothing and powerful at the same time. There was almost always a breeze and the place seemed magical; never the same yet always changing at the same time is always the same.

Her favorite dream is the one where she is there, dancing in the waves...
