When he opened his eyes it was like the world turned for the first time in centuries. The skys where blue and the stars twinkled... He was born to be part of us, part of who we die and what we do, he was born a hunter. Then my wife was killed and my world fell apart everything was wrong and my life's mission was to protect my boy... but it seemed tgat the job would always find him...

My father didn't understand, i only ever felt alive when battle filled my senses and my body rang with the will to protect rhose around me... those unaware, vulnerable...

Maki and his father get along pretty well. Growing up without his mother has allowed them to bond tremendously. They have inside jokes and work great as a team. Father-son bonding happens everyday as they go shooting at a gun range or look at the stars for hours. Maki is very curious and never delays in asking questions about whatever is on his mind. His father answers Maki's questions as best he can, but he is sometimes wrong. This causes Maki to search for answers in the mounds of books at his favorite library. Reading so many books, he was bound to come across the scientific section of the library sooner or later. Now that is all he reads. His father advises against it, but Maki's curiosity and love for knowledge cannot be stopped.
Maki is strong willed like his father. That can be an issue sometimes. They might fight and bicker, and because his father is bigger, Maki can't win. As a result, he sneaks away and often goes against his father's wishes. His father may be trying to protect Maki against the monsters he hunts, but Maki is too hard-headed to understand that yet. Maki wants to be able to fight by his father's side, using his profound knowledge to support him, but the loss of his mother makes his father paranoid about losing the only other person he loves.
Maki's father is very strong, this is why Maki respects and admires him. His father is strong not only in muscles, but in mentality. Maki doesn't remember his mother very much because he was very young, but his father never forgets her. Although he never talks about her, Maki sees that his father sometimes looks longingly at an old picture he keeps under the family crest. Maki says nothing and pretends not to notice, loving his father too much to bring up old memories.

Were the last words I heard my mom to my dad say the day she found me me playing with my father's monster hunter gear (unloaded of course) wearing my own badly crafted eyepatch to copy my father. I understood from the beginning what he was a monster hunter but I thought more of the monsters that hid under my bed, nevertheless I thought what my dad did was soo cool and he was very open with it...until mother dissapeared.

While I was cleaning up as instructed to do so by my father before he disappeared to go do whatever he does when he disappears I found a letter stashed away in an old shoe box. Normally I wouldn't have thought much of it but as I opened it i saw that it was addressed to me so I read it..

Dear daughter

By the time you have read this i hope that you are much older and more willing to understand why I have done this...
You see when you were just a young pup your mother was taken my monsters, not the ones that hide under your bed but the real vicious ones that I hope to keep you from. After I lost your mother I just couldn't stand the thought of possibly loosing you as well. Every time I look at you i can always see your mothers spirit shining bright within you and along with that her stubbornness therefore I decided to let myself decide what was best for you. Your mother always said that you would grow up to be just like me ever since she saw you playing with my equipment those many years ago but that's what I don't want. I want you stay away from the dangers that i face everyday..The dangers that slayed your mother. So from them on i hid everything that had to deal with monster hunting in hope that you would forget about it in time but it seemed that you never did so I became stricter and more grumpy to try to separate myself from you a little and to almost make the fact that I myself is a monster hunter slowly disappear from your mind and forbid you from ever trying to become a hunter. I hope that you understand that I did this out of love and not spite...for your protection

After reading the letter Shakarri supposed that he had a good reason to keep monster hunting from her but at the same time she didn't like it. Her father then came back home soon after that and she looked up from the note that she read several times and at him. "I know everything now..." she said before running up to hug him tight. "I'm so sorry about mom and I understand what you have done to protect me but you can't protect me forever dad. I need to learn how to fight monsters like you so that I won't end up like mom. Won't you at least let me try?" She asked then it was silent for a few moments before her father opened his mouth to answer....
