Why does their pendent glow?: Short version: Codanu's pendent represents the love of a fallen alpha male. The wavy blue-like color leading to his pendent is the water that the alpha male drowned in. (Below is the story to it/a longer version to why Codanu's pendent glows. You do not have to read the longer version, it is just there in case you are interested in know more. If you want me to remove anything, please let me know.)
Longer Version:
Codanu's pendent is like all others'. When a wolf dies, the soul of the deceased wolf lies within their pendent. Long ago, there was an alpha male of a pack which was located on a hill above an ocean. He was a strong leader, and would give anything to protect it. Life was very calm and peaceful, except for the days when challenging packs arrive. Fortunately for that pack, they were extremely huge in number, and strong in that fact. What kept the pack alive was the leader's soft nature. He knew when he had to be extremely hostile, and when to be neutral. However, this story grew dark relatively quickly. This alpha male had no alpha female, which is a rarity for most packs. Many years passed of safe, secured lives, but at one point, you begin to age. The alpha male was now rather old, but still kept as much strength as possible. During this time, another younger, stronger, and nearly bigger pack arrived, prepared for a challenge. Of course, there is no backing out of a fight when it comes to these types of packs, and the members knew what they had to do. The members of the pack fought the opponent's members, no matter the rank. The leaders had their own fight, and what happens between them is the future for both packs. Yips, Yelps, barks, and hoarse howls were heard for hours on end. Both leaders were now weakened, but the alpha male had his opportunity. His opponent was backed to the edge of the cliff, giving the alpha male a choice: He could either end the fight by throwing him off and letting him drown, or save his life by throwing him aside and chasing him off. Either way, he had a strong chance to win over the war. He hesitated as he glared down at the now terrified male before him, for fear his life was about to end. This is where his soft side took over. He helped his own enemy, and prepared to end the fight by simply chasing him off. However, the opponent acted like any other, and to the alpha male's surprise, he threw him off the ledge, causing him to fall underwater. Naturally, he would be able to swim up, but he was already weakened from the fight, and on top of that, he was old. Seeing to it he didn't have the strength to carry on and swim his way to the top, he drowned. Codanu has blue-like wavy markings leading to the pendent. It represents the water that the alpha male drowned in. His pendent glows because it shows the heart of the alpha male, who risked his life for the safety of his enemy.
