Rukami (Gulo Stantes) are a newly discovered species of bipedal mammals. Though they resemble wolves, they are actually more closely related to the mustelid family, which includes wolverines, otters, and badgers to name a few. Through natural selection, these rare animals evolved to incredible sizes and developed sentient brains along with opposable thumbs.
She's got a snake! -or he- the green is paint however her fur is stained that color so it doesn't just wash off. The snake is never far from this Rukami either, it's always close to keep warm.

Hale and Niko live in the Hoia-Baciu Forest in Romania. Deep in the forest resides their home; a small, cozy, wooden cabin.
Hoia-Baciu is said to be the world's most haunted forest... However, Hale and Niko are the ones responsible for the rumors and legends of the "Haunted Forest". Since they've lived there, hunters would come and disturb them. Because of how Hale looks, people have mistook her for being a possessed wolf spirit. These assumptions have lead hunters to try to capture her, and exorcists to attempt to "cleanse" her spirit. Even though none of these assumptions are true, she decided to live up to them. The haunting, that is. Her glowing fur is especially helpful, since it looks glow-y under the bright moonlight.

Because of the constant taunting and threats of those who've perceived her to be an evil spirit, Hale is quite timid, especially in crowds and daylight... which is when it is difficult to hide, as there is no darkness to shadow herself with. Hale has also developed PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Because of night terrors, it makes it difficult for her to sleep, and so she is primarily awake during the night, and catches what rest she can in the day. There are days when she can't make it outside of her living quarters because of fear, anxiety, and/or paranoia, but when she does, Hale covers herself in dark forest-green robes, and wraps scarves over her face, and bandages on her clawed hands. Hale never leaves without Niko, either. Niko has been her only friend, and often keeps her mood bright, as he helps distract her from her fears. Hale would surely be lost without Niko. However, though she has been treated cruelly, she is still very kind and will not hesitate to help anyone in need.

Niko and Hale have been friends for quite some time. It was one rainy night when Hale fortunately found Niko caught in a trap. She worked quickly to free him, and then took him home with her. Hale treated his wounds, and paid close attention to make sure that he didn't catch any upper respiratory illnesses, as it had been raining that night. Since Niko's recovery, he's made himself quite at home with Hale, and has felt no need, nor want to leave. Though Niko isn't fully unscathed. The trap broke his jaw, and he is unable to eat properly. No worries, though. Hale helps him with everything he needs. And in return, he helps her simply by being a friend and being there for her. The two are inseparable. Niko would surely be lost without Hale. Now, on his own, Niko is a very cautious being. He does not like most other interaction, especially with the townsfolk who hurt Hale and himself, and holds a severe grudge against them, often coiling and hissing whenever he's within hearing distance.
Hale and Niko quite enjoy walking through the forest, especially during the night. They also enjoy collecting little leaves, stones, and other neat little things such as feathers. Hale in particular enjoys seeing the wildlife, and the insects. Spiders are her favorite, and she thinks they're quite cute. Hale also enjoys cooking, and dancing with Niko. Niko himself enjoys napping, warm bathes, snuggling with Hale, and scaring the living daylights out of those who dare to disturb them. ...Which is his and Hale's specialty, if I may say so myself. Heh.
