Hot-headed and confident, Nila isn't one to back down from anything. She is optimistic and naive, throwing herself into danger and believing she can take on anything in life. She has a hit of an attitude and can be very harsh, cold, and cruel. It's not rare to see her looking down on others and being very arrogant and self-centered, feeling she is higher than anyone around her. She can be very regal and elegant, and impressive to get others attention. At times she may feel very insecure, often leaning to Terrell for support or confidence, as she can be very emotional sometimes and doesn't have much endurance. However, if tested she can be a true threat on both the battlefield and in court, as her words are as dangerous as a sharpened sword.

Nila P.O.V

Nila jumped out of the crate, feeling the grass run beneath her paws as she skimmed the ground, eager to explore her surroundings. She couldn't remember anything- for some strange reason, she woke up in a crate as it was opening to let her and Terrell out. She guessed they were being relocated-somewhere in the back of her mind, she remember a stranger saying something about it.

Nila watched as Terrell jumped from the crate, eyeing his surroundings cautiously and running up to her when he had seen his fill. "Where are we?" He whispered in her ear once the truck had drove away. Nila shrugged, glancing around at the wildlife she was in. It was very green and bright, the birds singing happily as if everything was perfect. "It can't be too bad. Nothing bad has happened yet." Nila sniffed at a dandelion in front of her as Terrell stayed behind, still eyeing his surroundings warily. She didn't exactly feel super safe in this wilderness either; everything just seemed so... Perfect. It was unnatural. With a flick of her tail, Nila gestured for Terrell to follow her. "Well, we aren't you to accomplish anything standing around here. Let's go explore!"

Terrell pov

"A nightmare, that's all it is. Just a nightmare" I mutter. I don't know who I am, who Nila is to me, how we know each others' names, or what happened for us to have ended up here - wherever 'here' was.
Nila's tail brushes my shoulder, pulling me from my reverie and stopping my babbling. I look up to see her smiling at me gently, and I force myself to return a somewhat pained smile. I'm also not sure what she thinks of my behaviour. If she believes this act or is puzzled by it. I'm not quite sure myself, not really.

I've already began to notice that everything my senses catch goes through a filter in my mind that sorts it all out and files the information away, along with other information on the same subject. How do I have other information to store the new stuff with?
I must've enjoyed researching this environment before- ... Before what? I don't know, my mind draws a blank.

Something moves in the corner of my eye, and I flinch away //this behavior is getting old// I tell myself tartly, and then it hits me. I'm not actually afraid; I just act like I am.

Still, I turn to Nila and whisper loudly. "A-ah, Ni-Nila? D-did you see th-that?"

Nila chuckles and looks at where I'm pointing. "No I didn't." She's actually about to turn away and continue leading our exploration when a head appears from the underbrush near her paws.
Ignoring me, it focuses solely on Nila, its intelligent eyes sizing her up, as if trying to determine whether or not she could be an ally, a foe, or someone of no importance. From the way it ignored me, I believe I had been placed in the latter category.

After a moment it gives a satisfied sounding chirp and a marbled polecat comes out from the underbrush. It looks around warily, then up at Nila.

"Hello, I figure you two are new here, right?" It says, tilting its head and narrowing its eyes. "Best get hiding, 'else you might end up fighting and dying for one of the clans." It continues somewhat blandly, as if it really couldn't care if they did.
"Fight? Why would we have to fight?" Nila asks the polecat, who sits back, flicks its tail and yawns.
"Because, no one could figure out a better way to determine who'd be the rulers of the biodome, so the predators who think they should rule are constantly fighting each other. They 'recruit' whatever creatures they can, and no one, not their own members, other creatures, nor rival predator clans are safe from the fights -save the chiefs, naturally." It explains tiredly, like it had explained this to many, and knew that they'd likely be recruited anyways.
"So, are you two going to hide, and hope to not be found, hide and watch the clans and then join one, or just let yourselves be caught by any which one?"

Silence for a moment, then:
"None of those. We'll form our own group, challenge these idiots, win, and then set this 'biodome' right." Nila says determinedly. The polecat nods like it had heard all this before.
"Good luck to you then. The current clans won't accept you as a challenger, but you probably won't have to worry about that as you'll likely be recruited or killed before you can even attempt to name yourselves a clan." It nods to Nila then turns to disappear into the underbrush.
"Wait," I say quietly, and it freezes, one ear turns back to listen. "Could you take us to wherever this thing is held? So we at least have a good shot at this?"
"I could," it replies, somewhat testily, still facing away from me "but if you do make it and name yourselves part of the challenges without being recruited or killed, who'll guaranty my safety when we're there? Or that you won't recruit me for your own battles?"
"My brother will guaranty your safety, and I'll promise that you will not fight unless you want to. You'd probably be a better spy or assassin than a warrior anyways." Nila says. "This'll work. Me and my brother will fight, and we won't recruit creatures, we'll let them join us. We'll ally ourselves with others, they'll have their domains, but we'll still rule the place. Those who join us can chose if they want to fight." She looks at me, as if for support, even though she should already know she has it.
I sigh.
"Fine, but you're going to be the ruler -queen, I guess- I'm not being in charge"
"Great, you can be my advisor then," Nila smiles at me, then looks at both me and the polecat. "and you can both be in charge of spying and assassinations"
"And I suppose I have no choice in the matter?" The polecat asks.
"Of course you do, you could choose a different job, or not to help and we'll find someone else" Nila replies. The polecat seems to think about the offer, weighing the personal risks against the benefits, taking its sweet time. I almost think it's going to refuse when it sighs.
"Fine then, I'll accept, but you'd better become queen then... Keh- second Spymaster, at your service" it chirps. "But I guess you two can call me Maverick."

Maverick is doing good on his end of the bargain, he's taking us to the hollow; apparently it's a clearing made up of several larger trees whose higher branches have grown around and become tangled with each other, creating a domed roof, and the lower branches are used for seating and often play a part of the fights. We're nearly there, actually, I can't yet make out The Hollow through the trees, but I can hear the cheering. Maverick seems uneasy –he says there's a match going on.
We arrive without any issues, thankfully. Actually, we make it inside and up to the clan leaders' branch and no one challenges us.



Nila surveys the leaders and sneers. "So these are the fools wasting lives to try and rule the biodome." She narrows her eyes. "I thought you'd all be much more impressive than this."
I am very sure that I definitely do not like Nila's way of naming herself a challenging leader. Actually, I think she's trying to kill us.
One of the leaders looks down at Nila, and attempts to mimic her sneer -though fails horribly, I might add- and loudly challenger her.
"I doubt you could be a better leader than any of us. I doubt you could beat any of the clans and come out as a ruler"
Nila smiles sweetly, the fool's just given her the perfect opening to proclaim us as a challenging clan. "Oh, I'm sure I could, and then I'd be queen over all of you." She pauses and somehow manages to looks down upon the leaders haughtily. "If you aren't my ally after my third fight and victory, you'll have to give up your places as clan leader, and your lands. I'll get to decide what happens to your clan"
The whole hollow falls silent, like everyone present is straining their ears, waiting for the leaders' decision.
"Deal. You fight now."

They expected Nila was going to lose. In fact, they only sent out a mediocre fighter -Nila trounced him. Several of the smaller predators quickly allied themselves with us, as well as most of the clans that weren't allowed to fight for leadership of the biodome.
After the second fight, Nila's second victory, the rest of the not-considered allied themselves with us, waiting for our victory. The tigers did too.
The last of the monkeys joined us just before Nila's third fight (She won again)

The remaining clans decided the last fight was going to be a melee, last creature standing wins. We won again; Nila simply dodged most of the attacks -which ended up with her foes hurting the competitors.

Nila is being crowned queen.
I must say I'm proud. Maverick and I are standing next to her as each clan of creatures comes forward and pledges allegiance, and offers a gift. Some of the gifts are practical, like food, herbs, weapons and information. Some are political, sending one or two young to be a part of our new court. Some are simply absurd, like the huge feathered crown and cloak from the birds -I think Nila will stick with her cape and something simpler as a crown, though.

When everyone is through, Nila makes a few pledges and sets down some laws, I'm not incredibly interested in these, she'd already told me everything she planned to say today. Maverick and I are busy watching faces, searching for any kind of a hint of a threat. When we’re done here today, we’ll discuss possible threats, but for now we’re watching for an attack.

Nila P.O.V

No. No. Everything is fine. Nila paced, worried and stressed. She won the throne, made her own clan, and even beat many battles to prove her strength. But something wasn't right. Some of the animals- the bigger ones- were looking at her strangely, eyeing her and Terrell and sometimes huddling together. Nila tried to over look it as just a misunderstanding. Maybe they weren't even talking about her at all. But something told her that this wasn't the case.

The birds had given her a large, orange cape, a normal crown which she wore every day, and headdress that wrapped around her head in a tangle of soft feathers. She enjoyed the fiery cape and normal crown as a sign of authority, but the feathers were a bit much. She decided to donate it to the animals so their young could play with the feathers and use them more than she ever would. The birds were ok with that as well.

Nila sat upon her throne, eyeing the animals protectively. If someone was planning an attack, she would need to protect her people. That was her top priority that the moment. But... No one is planning an attack at all, right? However much she tried to reassure herself, it wasn't working. Even her own sanity was being tested. This was going to drive her crazy.

Deciding to go out for a breath of fresh air, she stepped out into the woods, telling Terrell and Maverick to watch for danger or any signs of hostility. Her head was spinning, and she needed to think clearly. Taking a deep breath, she trotted towards a lake to get a drink. Almost at once the cool water soothed her, and she lapped it up greedily. After getting her fill, she turned around, only to see a green, broad face stare into hers. A deep, oily voice emitted from it, and it's malicious eyes stared into Nila, as if sizing up a foe.

"I have heard about this new queen.." The creature said, and looked at her apparel. "You seem to fit the confidence of one... Could you be the new queen everyone's talking about?" Asked the creature. Nila stood squarely in front of him. "Yes. Why?"
The creature laughed and stared into her eyes. "Your nothing but a mere appetizer to me. And in time, you will serve just that role... Along with your entire clan." The creature hissed and lumbered away, flicking it's long, whip like tail into a tree, create a long crease in it. It's bulky figure soon faded into the distance, and Nila gulped.

Nila shivered and ran, going as fast as she could to her throne where Terrell was waiting. She burst through the entrance in a flurry of fur and feathers, her cape moving in unison with her legs. "Terrell!" She called breathlessly. "Terrell! You and Maverick go get some others. We need to send out an assassination party!" She yelped.

Terrell POV

As soon as Nila enters The Hollow, Maverick and I are at her side.
"Assassination party? Are you sure your brother can handle this?" Maverick asks, not even bothering to ask what or why.
I am well known for being the most skittish creature in the biodome, so my credentials as first spymaster, assassin, and advisor to the queen are constantly being questioned by every creature who knows any of my roles.
"Yes," Nila snapped at the polecat, "I'm more worried about the party than my brother."
This time I spoke, "They'll be fine. They'd already had some training before they joined us, and they've trained with Maverick and I for the past two months, they'll be fine." I repeat, doing my best to sound reassuring. Maverick is just shaking his head, unimpressed by his queen's faith in him and our job training the party.
"Fine." Nila says, shaking her head. "I assume you two got someone to follow me." She sighs, before continuing. "Get them to describe the creature, then plan how you're going to get rid of it. Report your progress."
I spare a second to glance at Maverick, who catches my look. We had followed Nila. We agreed that we were the most qualified to protect the queen, despite his size and my timid disposition.
"Will do." Maverick chirps.

...

Nila looks uncomfortable. We had asked her to be present while we planned, as she had the most accurate description of the creature.
"Who's going to find this creature's den?" Maverick is in the middle of asking. We've agreed that he'll do most of the talking, unless I think of something we hadn't discussed before, or it will have more of an impact coming from me. An assortment of creatures steps up, and Maverick calls those he chooses by name. Much to my chagrin, I still don't know their names. After a few more words from Maverick, I watch our scouts disappear to find our queen's monster.

We've found 'im.
Well, found the creature's den, with it inside. Same difference.
Fanned out around a hollow beneath a large tree, we're waiting for the creature to leave, so we can have a bit of an advantage. We don't have to wait long, a cold rasp comes from the den, and I can see movement in the gloom. I look around at my teammates. Maverick and I are on opposite sides of the clearing, as well as just under half of our 'trainees'. Nila is back at hollow, guarded by the best we can spare. I wouldn't have left, but she told me she would feel better if I made sure this creature was gone. The shadow in the gloom shuffles about some more, then slowly the creature lurches from its den. I have no idea what it is that steps out into the open, but before I can make a sound, it takes in a breath and tastes the air.
"I was going to go out to hunt," it mutters to itself, then raises its voice, "but it seems my meal has come to me." It grins maliciously and braces itself, readying itself for an attack. Several of the larger animals in our party, and some of the more confident ones, burst from the undergrowth and streaked towards the creature. It settles into something akin to a ready stance, and an odd gurgling sound comes from deep in its throat. I crouch lower, waiting to see what happens, ready to leap from my vantage point at a moments notice.

As I watch my attacking teammates, I see the creature sink lower. I cannot fathom what it will do next. Lash out with its tail? Bite or claw at them? I'm definitely shocked when it moves. Its claws dig into the soft ground and it's tail raises to balance itself, then it rears back. With a sinking feeling, I suddenly know what it's going to do. I give a warning cry, just before a blast of flame jets from the creature's mouth, missing my teammates by mere inches, but lighting the surrounding vegetation ablaze. I shout at those who are still hiding.

"We need to put out the blaze!" They all rush from their hiding spots, but don't run towards the fire, instead they charge the dragon -what else could it be?- and help their teammates. I look around. Who's not fighting, who can warn the queen and the biodome's inhabitants? A bird, right.
Finding my bird, I leap from my vantage point, streaking over the combat and carefully snagging the only bird on this team in my claws.

"Hey!" I hissed at it, "You need to warn the biodome! No one is dealing with the fire, so they need to find some kind of shelter, got it? Fly as quickly as you can to the Hollow. Screech the warning on your way, and make sure the queen is safe!" The bird looks stricken, but nods once and takes off. That was probably the most I've ever said to any of the trainees, and coupled with a fierce expression and my determination, I must've given the poor thing a heart attack. Oh well, my timid persona is blown, might as well shrug it off completely and help with the fight.

No one seems to notice when I join the fray. With well aimed swipes with our claws and snaps of our teeth, we slowly drive the dragon back. Eventually it steps back and loses its balance, and a hissing sound comes from behind it, the dragon backed into a river. Water splatters over its legs and back, wherever the droplets land turns grey and hisses, and soon the dragon is barely green, and barely moving. After a few more moments in the water, it has turned to stone.

I think we all feel relieved, no one was seriously hurt. Then we hear the crackling. Turning around, I can see that the jungle is on fire, even though the heat and bright light makes it difficult.

"The queen!" Someone gasps, I don't know who, "We have to get back to the hollow, find the queen!"
"No we don't!" I shout at them. "The queen won't be at the hollow, not by the time we get there, we have to find their shelter!" Maverick appears at my side. "Right," he calls. "Don't lose track of each other, stay within earshot, we don't want to lose anyone now!" He waits a moment, then shouts. "Let's go!"

We stand in the clearing where Nila and I first stepped into the world, backs pressed up against the dome's wall, hoping for rain. I see the greenery alight. The colors shifting as the flames devoured whatever could not get out of its way. Nila's here. I figured this is where she'd go, we both knew this spot, and would end up here if we wandered aimlessly. I look over at our queen. She looks so strong, so brave, with the flames dancing only a few feet from her nose, their bewitching dance reflecting on her pale fur. I stand next to her, thinking of how we're going to rebuild the place. Nila doesn't say a word, she just looks at me from the corner of her eye.

...We'll begin again...

Terrell seems timid. He is usually seen hiding behind his sister. He often stutters when he talks and walks lightly, flinching away from his own shadow. He seems to be easily startled and like he is quick to flee. Despite his skittish-seeming nature insults and threats won't make him flinch, instead he plants his feet and bears throuh it; stowing all his negative feelings away for when he really needs them.
Terrell dislikes confrontation, and often goes out of his way to avoid it, but heaven help whoever makes him overcome his pacifist nature. When forced into a fight, Terrell becomes cold, calculating, and downright dangerous, capable of turning most situations in his favor. Terrell wouldn't start or participate in a fight he couldn't win.
Capable of looking ahead and seeing many sides of an argument or coming problems, Terrell finds himself in his element during a crisis. Able to keep his head firmly on his shoulders, he'll often act as a steadying figure to those in charge, or step up himself if he must.
Terrell is likely older than his appearance suggests.
