General Info

Chrysaora Basilisk are the prevalent equine creatures that inhabit the world Lucent. They roam by the hundreds, using their unique hooves to score the uneven rock and track down their most vital source of nourishment; evil. The relationship between Chrysaora and humans is a complex one. Chrysaora vocalize like horses, but are also thought to have a syrinx much like birds do and have been recorded displaying a variety of sharp, avian sounds. Their eyes layer over with a dark, murky black until their normal eye color pierces through in a great ball of electric light, radiating toward their victim's open eyes and paralyzing them. The Glare is able to stop both human and creature, and after a few days, unique to other forms of basilisk, the paralyzed being transforms into a sea nettle.

I'll be doing a "12 Days of Xmas" Chrysaora Adoption Advent. As it sounds, I'll be making 12 pre-designed Chrysaora all wrapped and ready to go to a new home. Each Chrysaora will come out one a day, starting on the 25th. Each will have a short contest (no more than a few sentences) and a 24hr competition. There will be no extensions of extras allowed, and you're only allowed to win once, so choose wisely. If you win a Chrysaora and decide you don't like it, you may gift it to another competitor in the competition with my approval, but you will not be allowed to win another. The only catch is that you won't see your chrysaora until after you win it, so if you're ok with surprises then this is the event for you.

Favorite/Why?: One day, this basilisk was roaming the caverns, searching for the legendary " water or immortality. " He was tired and his muscles hurt from walking so long. The basilisk saw a shimmer of white in the corner of his eyes, and quickly looked up. There it was! A waterfall of sparkling white water, as the legends told! He was so happy he reared on hind legs and nearly fell over. The basilisk ran at a full sprint, leaping as high as he could. But his efforts were useless, because the flowers that has originally been small and minuscule had grown to a large size as what he could only comprehend as a defense mechanism. He fell for what seemed like an eternity, but landed on the soft insides of the flower. It was so fun, he forgot about the waterfall and his achy muscles and continued to leap up and land on the large flowers. This basilisk had so much fun that day, it was an experience that could never be forgotten.

Favorite/Why?: Jay isn't to fond of caves, but something about the odd smell of saltwater brought her farther and farther into the dark tunnel. Just as she was thinking she couldn't travel any farther in to the abyss for fear of her soul, something glimmered and caught her attention. A small round object sparkled at her feet and as she approached she saw a white bony hand clasping it, a coin of some sort. There were a few more in the puddle that were getting slightly deeper with each step she took. There in the middle of a large cavern she saw a chest, brimming with gold coins and jewels, she was thrilled, but as if that wasn't enough a warm salt water breeze suddenly whipped her mane from her neck and a few rocks fell away from the wall opposite her. As she stepped though the portal she had to lower her gaze as the sunlight made her eyes burn from being in the dark so long. Anchored just off the sand was a large ship broken apart by years of smashing on the beach with the tide. Since it was easy for her to approach she could leap aboard and call it her own. She frequently likes to explore the ship and it has to be her favorite place to simply get away.
