RVEC #18 - Red Dun Quarter Horse

Postby SydneyandStorm » Fri Jan 02, 2015 8:19 am

If you all read the Spicy tribute page, you know that our barn recently lost a very dear pony and we were all hit pretty hard by it. That included the horses -- particularly one sweet old mare by the name of Sunny. She was Spicy's best friend, and Spicy was hers, and only a few days after Christmas (and Spicy's death), she just gave up. It wasn't colic; she simply walked over to where Spicy had passed away, laid down, and fell asleep. Sunny was a good little mare, loved by all and loving to all, and she was essentially a bigger Spicy in that she would faithfully cart around any little children for whatever length of time was asked of her. We're really going to miss her; she's very special.

Because of Sunny's gentleness towards new riders, priority will be given to users who apply that do not currently own any RVEC horses. To win her, however, I want to see a show name having to do with the sun or Sunny (it will be an auto-win if someone is able to guess her show name) and/or something relating to a friendship between two horses. Please keep in mind that Sunny and Spicy must be reunited after retirement, so if you are not willing to either give her up (or lease her out) or take on Spicy, just let me know ^^

Passed away 10/03/15.

Extra: When I first met my small friend Spice, she was in bad condition, i chose what I was going to get to know this pony, maybe, I could have a friend, she watched out for me and I did the same for her, once the humans noticed that we were inseparable, they put us in stables next to each other, and we had our own paddock, I hated it when the humans took her away from me, I screamed and screamed until she was back to me, she was my little Spice and I was her Sun.
//couldn't think what to write, soo here you go//

A horse up my yard once his best buddy was blind, she got herself into a bad situation, she bolted and ran into barb wire :\ the people didn't know because the field was hidden in a tree line, Charley, he was attached to this mare, he screamed until somebody came, he met them at the gate and ran to the mare, with the people behind, and as they called the vet to come and get her put to sleep - the barb wire was all up her chest and legs, Charley stood there with her, and when the vet went to put her to sleep, he touched her on the nose and walked away to say goodbye, he's never been the same again after that.

Extra: The trailer had stopped rocking. There were noises and two large slams, suddenly the back of the trailer opened and I saw the meadow, it was beautiful, bright, filed with sunshine in all but one place. There was a small clump of trees casting shade in the right hand side of this beautiful meadow, and under the tree, two stones, engraved with some kind of words. As soon as the kind human that broight me here unclipped my halter I raced to the most dusty spot there was and tood a good long dirt bath. As I strggled up and shoot of the remaining bit of dirt I went to investigate my new home. All was calm, except for the trees and two rocks. Something drew me closer and when I finally got a good look at the place I felt like I had seen it some where before. After grazing for a bit a large clang as the gate opened up interupted my thoughts, and in walked a small little brown and white filly. She hastliy made her way over to me and as I looked into her eyes I felt as if I knew her from some where. This is how I met my very best friend.

The sun was shining so bright,
having beaten the clouds in fight.

We wanted to go out for fun,
I wish the clouds could beat the sun.

    Hallo there c:

I, piaffes in the snow would like to formally invite whoever may win this beauty to join the RVEC Quarter Horse Association. Now, you'll have to wait until I finish the thread and such, but since there is such a sad, heartbreaking story behind her, your entry fee to the registry will be 50c instead of 100c.

Hope whoever wins considers this offer,

herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.
