Why the Collar?: Many ask Nyx why she wears such an intriguing collar, made of metal and a skull made of bone. Nyx, being a strong believer in Paganism, particularly the Greek Gods and Goddesses. She worships the god Hades, which is the God of the Underworld. Nyx has often seen signs and hints of her beloved Hades' presence, and vows to serve her God with all her might and power. She strives to make him proud, and views him as a fatherly figure which guides Nyx through her life, for she has no family of her own. Nyx wears this collar as a sign of her loyalty and love to Hades, as well as a sign of how proud she is of her "father". Despite the fact that attention surrounds Nyx due to her uncommon religion and passion, she is well-known and is known for her beautiful yet intriguing collar.

The collar itself is made of a strong titanium metal, with the skull itself made from real bone. It is unsure if the skull itself is a real skull, or just a carving. (181/200)

Why the Collar?: as you can clearly see, tate's collar has a skull on it. and skulls are usually supposed to represent death, correct? in her case, it is the exact opposite. the collar keeps her strong, even when she's lost all hope and just wants to let go. it used to belong to her friend micah, who was killed brutally in a tragic massacre. tate took the collar after his death and hasn't taken it off since. it hardly represents her passed friend anymore, it is simply a nagging reminder to keep holding on. when tate looks at it, all she can think of is what happened after micah's death. his friends fell into dark times, along with his family, everyone felt the burden of thus loss. and tate knows that if she dies, the same will happen all over again. and she doesn't want that.
"micah, i will stay strong for you."

Why the Collar?:

She was given the collar with the skull charm by a friend. A friend who she didn't save. She could have but didn't. The one time she needed her. She wears it to remember her friend and never make the mistake again. Her friend took her life the night she left. The name long forgotten but lingers in her memory just out of her reach. Her past friends name was carved into the back of the collar along with hers but faded away with the washed away memory. Di- was all that remained on the charm along with the scratch marks from fray across her own name. She wears the charm with a sorrowful pride. It was all she; anyone had left of her friend. Fray feels it protects her. Like D's spirit is inside of it fighting off the shadows. {141}

Why the Collar?: you'd think a skull would represent that she likes death-related things? Teagen is faced with this assumption that she's gothic, loves death and all things related. no. this collar stands for her independence. Teagen is a strong believer in getting to know a person before being judgemental about who they are. this collar is supposed to be a trick into making people think she's into dark things, when really, she is the most happy and outgoing plumie around. Teagen goes around giving presentations about getting to know someone before judging. But in the end, you really shouldn't judge at all. this is way she has this collar.

Why the Collar?: When she was younger, Indie use to be in a rock band called ‘Bones and Thorns’. It was nothing special really, average sounding and just a few teens in their parents garage. They knew they’d never make it but they never really wanted the fame, all the music they made was just to get rid of stress and have a good time. She was always happiest when she was hanging out with the gang, and those are some of the best memories she has. Her best friend gave her the neckless right before the band decided to split and go their separate ways, and she wears it to remember the good old days. Everyone in the old band has one just like it, though they each wear them in different areas. It’s their little secret what the symbol stands for.

Why the Collar?:
It was a peculiar box; just handed to her by this kind woman on the street corner. Strange markings covered the wooden box in its entirety. Delta didn't think anything other than that it was a strange act of kindness. When she got home she opened the interesting package. Inside a solid grey collar laid with a small skull pendant attached to it. The item had a strange feeling to it, right up her alley clothing wise. She wasted no time in putting it on, reminding herself that she should go back and thank the woman who gave it to her.
When she went back to thank her, she was gone, but a strange group of people in her place. Again, she thought nothing much of it until she got home. She tried to take it off, though she found she couldn't. It would feel too heavy to pull off, or as though it was 'just there'. It was frightening that it wouldn't move, how would she live with it? She had the strange box, maybe that would have answers. It now became a mission to figure out this strange present.

Why the Collar?:
Nikolai was a Russian mobster always doing the most dangerous tasks one could ever think of. He had a very over confident attitude which lead to his demise. He got killed on the job one day and he had a date with death, yes death is an actual figure, and death said that he would allow him to roam the earth once more as long as he carried out tasks for him. Of course Nikolai wanted to return back to earth so be quickly took the job and death gave him the collar as a way to control him from the underworld as if the collar comes off he has a limited amount of time to retrieve it before he dies again or if he disobeys an order then death can make the collar disappear until Nikolai completes a job. Now don't think that he had made a pact with the devil. Death actually sends him mostly on missions to prevent other from dying rather than killing people almost like a dark angel in disguise.

Why the Collar?: phoebe is a spunky girl, with a fragile attitude. the collar she wears represents the delicacy of life, and those around her, even within herself. it's a constant reminder that others have feelings we can't control, but are easily influenced and if treated inaccurately may end in tragedy. personality, phoebe is very easy to manipulate and take advantage of, especially her feelings. if approached with a sour or grumpy attitude, here will also change to match depending on the severity, and same with a cheerful or positive attitude. that isn't the only thing though. phoebe also just really likes skulls and some of the other things in life some might describe as dark. hardcore music and clothing is a thing she enjoys too, and the collar shows a bit of that side of her. she doesn't feel right without it now though, after wearing it for so long. she's spunky and punky, what more can you say?

Name: Friday
Gender: male
Why the Collar?:
Friday wasn't a stereotype, he didn't want to be one and it was something he secretly feared. He didn't want to be molded by society, he didn't want to let anything get in the way of who he was.
And so what did the collar have to do with Friday's thoughts? It did not stand as a reminder, not as a simple memory. It was a sign that spoke words to strangers, it spoke, "tough" or "strong" or even "brave". And to Friday it spoke a story. To summarize the collar's story, "You are stronger than they are, you are braver than they are, and you are better than they are." And sure, it made him vain and self absorbed but nobody could say it was wrong to care for oneself.
The collar was a sign that read, "not dainty". It made him feel stronger, better, and that was what mattered most. Words that others spoke did not matter when he wore it, for some odd reason it made him feel greater. Funny how apparel can boost self esteem and courage.
His strength was hidden in a skull shaped pendent.
