A Little More About Me:
Well, I really love British stuff. I don't really get why, either - I just love Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Harry Potter. Oh, and Pirates of the Caribbean, though those movies are technically American in origin, but...well...they all have British accents, so I count it as a British movie, even though I know it's not. Anyways, out of all of them my favorite fandom has to be Sherlock. It is just such an AMAZING show, what with Benedict Cumberbatch playing Sherlock and Martin Freeman playing John Watson...I mean, it's stupendous! You might be wondering how I watch a show or movie if I can't see - well, I really can't watch anything. I hear it as well as sense it with my other senses. Oh, and I actually DO live in a cave, if you're wondering - someone dropped off an old TV in here that somehow still gets a signal. I don't know how, but it does. A different Voxxie in our group hooked it up, and I have no idea how he managed to do that, seeing as he can't see...but he's a genius with small parts and intricate stuff like that, so I guess it makes sense that he'd be the one to fix it. Anyways, we only get BBC, some music channels, and one movie channel, so our choices of entertainment are limited. We watch movies and TV shows differently than those that see, as we can't physically notice anything with our eyes. We rely mainly upon the sound that comes from the TV set. Sometimes we get static, and we know that the youngsters have been playing with the antennae on the top of the television again, so one of us has to climb up on top and tweak them until the static stops. The little ones love the TV just as much as the adults and teens, and we often all watch movies or shows together - it's sort of the one thing we all have in common, and because of that, it draws us closer as a group.
So, you want to know about other things I like? Sure. I love music. When no other Voxxie is using the TV set, I'll often switch it on and click the buttons until I hear music. Music is just so beautiful - listening to it fills my heart with happiness and makes me feel as if I'm floating through the sky. It makes me so happy to listen to it. I often fall asleep listening to quiet music, and am then awakened by louder music at a later time, if no other Voxxie turns the TV off before I wake.
Something else about me? Hm...let me think. How do I know about the others that can see? Good question. I may be blind, but that doesn't mean I'm stupid. I read braille, which I learned how to do at a very young age from elders in our group - they've passed away now, and I don't know how they learned, so please don't ask me. And somehow, we found braille books buried under piles of rocks in the cave. We still can't figure out why they were there in the first place, nor did the elders that taught me to read know how they appeared, either. They're very old and hard to read - the words within them are hard to understand. However, I am determined by nature and have successfully read every single one of them twice. This is how I know that there are others out there unlike us - those whose eyes really open and those that don't live in eternal darkness. I don't understand everything mentioned in the books - such as light, the sun, the moon, stars, cats, dogs, humans, and other things, too - but I do understand that we're different from the rest of the world. Most beings don't even know we exist...and I'd prefer it that way, to be honest. I don't like others snooping in my business, even if they mean well.
