From the outside Adonis is quirky, blunt, whimsical, and inquisitive.
On the inside Adonis is blunt, inquisitive, hypocritical, judgmental, possessive, creative, and can be just plain charismatic.

Blunt;
This is a trait Adonis knows he has, and often uses it to his advantage. He often spouts blunt truth about people to try to throw them off, or befriend them.
It seems strange that he is able to use this to his advantage, when many people can't, but Adonis has always had great control over his words and thoughts.

Inquisitive;
Adonis often asks question, because he enjoys to learn. But many of his questions are 'to-the-point' and he often says things he shouldn't, for example; "Why did you get divorced?" He, however has no idea that a question such as that is considered rude.
Just another perk to being blunt and naive.

Family relationships--

Calder: Jason thinks it's pretty cool to have inheirited his dad's short tail. It's one of the things that makes him unquie. However, he's also thankful that he doesn't have the same social problems that Calder does, because he likes making new friends. Despite that, he admires his dad for always trying to keep going even though he's so clumsy. Since he knows that Calder can get nervous around strangers, he usually doesn't invite his friends over. What he likes best about his dad is their cheesey inside jokes. Like whenever they both trip because of their tails at the same time and whisper "shorty tails jinx!" at the same time. -Why does this sound so choppy? I'll fix it later.

Winnie: She is his biggest role model and the greatest teacher he could ask for. He respects and admires the way she cares for him and his siblings, even when they probably don't deserve it. However, he could do without her constant reminders to be careful of strangers any time he leaves the house. Still, he knows that she can't help worrying. He likes doing things for her that will make her day because she always does the same for him. She's also the reason he got into art. The first picture he ever drew was of his mother smiling. Since it made her so happy, he decided that he liked drawing and has continued to draw to this day. His best memory of his mother is the day she taught him how to write his name.

Maximillan: Max is his best friend and confidant. They're almost inseperable. If anyone tries to mess with Max, they have to go through Jason first. Jason is the bolder half of their duo, but Max is the heart. Sometimes it seems like Max is the one with the short tail, because he's much more clumsy than Jason is, but their physical differences don't really matter that much to them. The trust between them is tougher than steel. Whenever Jason needs to talk about something that is just too embarrassing or personal, he knows he can talk to Max and, although he might laugh, he won't tell anyone else. Sometimes they have their falling-outs, but they never last for long because they rely on each other too much.

bluejay has always been the most outgoing bean in his family. from the day he was born he was a handful, full to the brim with curiosity and zest for the world. although he is so outgoing, bluejay often finds he cannot function well in social situations - at all. he turns into a mute mess, blushing and only managing to stutter words out that sound like a baby's gurgle. he prefers to just avoid being social unless he knows the bean well ( like his family ), to save himself from the embarrassment of being so inept. he is also the mischievous sibling, or so he likes to think. more than once has he pranked his shyer brother, or lured him into trouble ( well, as much trouble as two 7 year old kids can get into ).

he is incredibly creative, charismatic and generous. when not pestering his family, bluejay is in his little workshop creating things- from toys, to clothes, to art. he loves to just sit there all day, making new toys, like rocking horses or dolls. blue is also charismatic and generous, something that he prides as his best trait. he absolutely loves to make others smile, and loves giving even more- it's one of the reasons why christmas is his favourite time of year.

blue, for some reason, has never been able to understand expressions of speech or sarcasm. it just.. doesn't process. he often gets incredibly confused and sometimes even hurt when other beans use 'mean' sarcasm, assuming he'll get it like any other bean will. it often flusters him that he just cannot wrap his head around the idea of mean words being used for humor or to express an emotion or feeling in writing.

bluejay has an uncanny love of collecting and tinkering with anything vintage. clocks, dolls, whisks, you name it. one of his favourite activites is getting his momma to take him to a small vintage store in town, so he can hang onto her dress and prowl around for some new items to store or play with. he is fiercely protective of the items he collects, and he rarely lets his siblings touch them- even max.

despite all his good points, bluejay is often disorganized and impulsive. his entire workshop is cluttered up with things that he believes he needs ( but he really doesn't ), and he has been known to curl into his mothers arms, wetting her with tears as he points to a scrape on his knee that was caused by him tripping over a piece of wood or junk. as well as being disorganized, blue is well known to be impulsive in his decisions. he rarely stops to think about things, but instead rushes into them head on with the vigor only a child can have.

ᴄᴀʟᴅᴇʀ || bluejay adores his father. he feels as if, him and calder, they have a special bond because of their shared tails. only calder can understand the way having a short tail can effect life. even though calder and bluejay are a little different in terms of personality, calder is always the parent bluejay goes to when he wants to show off his new creations or he just wants to sit in comfortable silence that only the father and son share. bluejay affectionately refers to calder as 'dada', and looks up to him and wants to be just like him.
he loves to watch calder doing things around the house, and enjoys mimicking his father by mimicking every word he says and move he makes. blue sometimes feel like his father doesn't really understand some of his feelings- calder's shyness doesn't really mesh with blue's constant desire to be moving or engaging himself in activities. he also often struggles to talk to his dad about things that he normally confesses to colette- for some reason, he just finds it horribly hard and embarrassing. calder's soft-spoken ways kinda make him feel like he's being a pest, or just stressing about nothing. in spite of this, calder supports blue in everything he endeavors for. son, you want to fly to mars? yes, sure, ill buy the rocket ship. bluejay has a way of charming calder into bending to his will in most things, even using his large, soft scarf as a blanket, enveloped in his warm, familiar scent- daddy's little boy.





ᴡɪɴɴɪᴇ || bluejay and his momma have had a bit of a rough time, as blue often feels smothered by his mom's protectiveness. don't get me wrong, he loves his momma with every last bit of his heart and thinks she is the most beautiful bean in the world, but sometimes he just wishes that he could share the understanding of not really having to talk as he does with calder. though he feels a little smothered, whenever he's hurt, guess where you'll find him? he loves the caring, gentle attention that his momma can give when he is hurt, and the gentle kisses that seem to magically make him all better again. winnie has a way of just letting him cry and moan about how sore he is and asking her to kiss his injury better or tell him he's going to be okay, he's not going to die because of a paper cut. although blue can sometimes get a little melodramatic about little injuries, often claiming death or hospitalization, he knows that his momma can always tell when he's really, most definitely injured, like that time when he sprained an ankle tripping in dada's tail fluff ( shhh )





ᴍᴀxɪᴍɪʟʟɪᴀɴ || blue and max, the unstoppable duo of mute and clutz! bluejay loves max to death, as they are twins and share a bond like no other. blue is, for some strange reason, incredibly defensive and protective of his brother, to the point of fibbing to keep him out of getting the blame for his own mishaps. because max is the gentler, more awkward sibling, blue often pranks him and gets him into trouble accidentally, which, at times, makes their relationship a little more tense. blue doesn't really get why max is so clumsy, but he tolerates it because he knows that his brother understands him just that little bit more than even his daddy does. bluejay and maximillian give eachother strength- when blue is feeling weak in his self confidence because, no, max, the toy isn't okay, max will give him the self confidence and push to continue what he is trying to persevere in. although they are so close, he cant help but envy his brother and try to outdo him; in getting calder's attention, especially. blue has a niggling thought that his family love max more because he was born a little bit earlier, and he's a little bit clumsier, thus needing the cuddles and attention of momma and dada. bluejay, even though he sometimes feels jealousy towards max, would never harbour any ill will to him.





ᴄᴏʟᴇᴛᴛᴇ || colette is a hard nut to crack! bluejay knows that under all that prissy, girly stuff colette has a sense of adventure that max sometimes lacks. blue loves to annoy his slightly older sister, hoping to get a rise out of her. when he does, colette is amazing to play with! or, well, as amazing as an annoying big sister can be. they can play for hours, all three of them. blue sometimes just studies colette, and envies her ability to be so good at like, everything. bluejay doesn't know how or why, but he is incredibly close to colette in a way he doesn't share with another family member- he confesses all his hidden fantasies about things he might be judged for- what if his room was pink? what if, for one day, he could wish to be a girl? colette seems to understand these things, you know, being a young, imaginative girl herself. although they get along in this way, they are also very competitive. they are prone to accidentally leaving max out- in this situation, blue quickly diverts his attention to max and waves colette away for another day. he is close to colette in the you're-annoying-but-i-love-you way, in which he confesses his 'girly' fantasies.

hello santa, im blue! well, bluejay. blue-jay. but everyone calls me blue. my christmas wishlist this year ain't really that big, but i wanna be gen.. generis? im no good at spellin- this year and help some kids in need. it kinda makes me sad to see all those kids, like, out on the street with no toys, so all year i have been making some toys in my workshop for those kids. all i want for christmas this year is for my mum and dad and brother and sister to be happy ( and eat lots of cake ) becuz they deserve it for takin care of me for my whole life! and maxie deserves some toys too! but that's for him to ask, hehe. and for those kids to get the toys ive made ( i gave them all to daddy to give to you, santa! ) becauz they really deserve them for being strong this christmis even tho their families dont have much. and maybe some more wood and fabric just for me? i'd love to make some stuff for my family as well later after christmis and daddy says that santa likes generous beans.. i know it seems like a lot when i said i wouldn't ask for much, but i cant help it! daddy sometimes says i dream a little big for a little kid, but there are kids that mite not get good dreams at all this christmas... please, santa? i know this sounds like an awful big thing for just a kid like me to ask, but even my bro and my big sissy are in on this.

a small, blue letter unfolds in calder's hands. he reads it with a smile, reliving his son's wishes over again. who could have known blue would become such a loving, generous child? he affectionately reseals the letter, returning to wrapping the requested presents.














it was the night before christmas, and the family was in a bit of a rush. bluejay sat in a corner, a frown pressed on his face and his normally bright blue eyes downcast and dull. 'blue, w-what's wrong?' calder asked, softly. the small bean looked up, smiling softly and suppressing a sigh. 'dad,' he started, with a dramatic pause for effect, 'mummy forgot to buy the cookies and milk for santa!' he exclaimed, his eyes wrought with betrayal. calder tsked, knowing how much bluejay loved to give santa his cookies and milk each christmas, because that was just his giving nature. 'well, we're just gonna have to give santa something a little d-different this year.' calder smiled, rubbing his son affectionately between the ears. 'let's have a family meeting, shall we?' he proclaimed. bluejay grinned, nodding and bouncing to his feet. 'i was just gonna go down and finish off the last toys for the kids, but santa needs some food for all his hard work.' bluejay said, a serious look on his normally sweet, smiling face.

calder and blue descend the stairs, blue's hand slipped into his father's, his hand dwarfed in size comparison. they walked into the kitchen, finding the remainder of the family congregated around the dinner table. 'daddy and i wanna have a meeting!' he grinned, his light blue eyes sparkling with excitement as he hopped up onto the bench near the table, leaning into his palms with his elbows on his knees. 'mumma, you forgot the cookies n milk for santa, and i think santa needs some food and lickwed- li..liquid for all his hard work tonight!' he explained, playing with his tail fluff. winnie nodded, adjusting her flower crown and smiling. 'well, we have some toast and orange juice that santa could have. it's the thought that counts, right kids?' she smiled, pulling blue off the counter and onto a chair. 'now, off the counter young man. we need to make santa some nice buttery toast!'

with that, the entire family started working towards a festive dish for santa. winnie cut toast pieces out with christmas tree and snowman cookie cutters, arranging them on a plate. maxie and blue squeezed orange juice, ending up with more of the sticky, sweet juice on themselves than in the juicer. calder kept a careful eye over the two mischievous brothers, frowning but laughing despite himself when colette whined indignantly about the boys plopping a half orange onto her head. after the plate had been set out, covered with festive cling wrap, the twins were ushered off to have a shower while colette, winnie and calder changed.

at the end of the night, peering through the snow-frosted window, you could see a family of five huddled up on their sofa, mittened hands wrapped around cups of warm cocoa, and a very, very tired blue.
