USERNAME:
i'm cheesewedge. c:
NAME:
taos. this boy reminds me so much of this ski valley place me and my
family always go to over the winter break. i think i can call it my favorite place in the world.
GENDER:
male
SCARF DESIGN:
i'm not an artist, so i'll try my best to describe it. i'm going for a dark blue, almost
about the same color of his pelt. it's made of silk. just a little lighter. some trees peeking
out over the edge, and a ski lift portrayed serenely across the length. stars shining brightly
in the night sky, and of course, a crescent moon. (naturally) i tried ;o;
HOW DID HE COME TO OWN IT:
taos received this very special scarf over a winter break, when he was about the age of five, from
his great grandfather. his grandfather is known for making traditional indian art (pottery, sand art,
ect.), and his writing of the new mexican mountains. (i.e. kachina peak) it was a parting gift to
taos right before his grandfather left for the mountains to scrounge up some more poetry and writing
about the greatness of the clean air, several sea levels about the usual, and the crisp and completely
natural beauty. taos misses his grandfather dearly, and wears his scarf almost always. it has become
a little worn down and frayed upon the edges, though taos still refuses to give it, or throw it away.
it's a literal masterpiece. taos hopes to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, though his parents greatly
disapprove, and would rather have him become a doctor, or something among that area of expertise.
of course, taos will not dishonor his grandfather's legacy, and continues to do what he does best, and
what he enjoys the most. for some reason, the frost and chillness has never really bothered him. it's as
if he were born for the mountains.
word count: exactly two hundred. boo-ya!
BACKGROUND #1:
so, you're probably wondering what the heck taos ski valley is. every year, my family and i go on a
nice road trip to new mexico, because texas is flat, boring, and it never snows. ever. for the past two
years, my sister and i have been attending a week of ski school, and this year, we'll finally be going
alone, just the two of us. up there, i feel a sense of freedom, and i can escape from the pressures of
reality. it use to be extremely hard for me to breath up there, (i have some lung issues), but after some
extensive breathing exercises, and a lot of dark chocolate, i can usually breath normally again. we're
only up there once a year, for only a week, so i try not to waste any time. it's very clear and high, so
all of the air is very fresh. the actually town, taos, revolves around old indian cultures and i always love
to go over there and buy a lot of merch to bring back home and give to my friends. i've always loved that
place, and i don't think i can survive more more week of waiting.
