What are Belldandy's?
Belldandys, also known as Belldees for short, are a fluffy little pixie horse the size of a small rodent. The Belldee will fly from house to house, normally through a window, visiting little children and infants before they fall asleep. Their bells hold a certain pixie dust that brings the little ones good fortune and sweet dreams. Belldees can not open their eyes, yet somehow they can mysteriously "see" the world around them. They can come in an assortment of colors, any colors you could possibly imagine. Though Belldee's can fly, it is less common for them to have wings; their magical aura is what helps most to fly. Belldandys eat flower petals and leaves for the most part, anything else they eat would consist of an assortment of berries or grasses. One thing they love especially, but is so rare for them to come across is tea. They are obsessed with it and will stop dead in their tracks if they see a cup of it sitting on a table or stand. Lots of people leave tea out at night to try and spot the fluffy pixies.

I wanted a strong name for this Belldandy, to suit his warrior status. I didn't want a long name, or a complicated or over-unique name, but a simple one with a great meaning. 'Mars' is always a name I have liked, and being he is the god of war, it seemed very fitting.

What does the marking mean?;;

Mars' job is not to give children dreams, but to chase and hunt down the nightmares that plague their sleep.

When a nightmare is strong enough, it can sometimes take physical shape and harm the Belldandy that tried to remove it. Because of this, strong Belldees were carefully selected to train as warriors and protectors of the dream-giving Belldees, keeping them safe from the venomous nightmares. When they have defeated enough nightmares, they are branded with a unique mark that emulates the nightmare they defeated, so all could remember their victory.

The job of a warrior is dangerous, requiring fast flying skills and a fierceness that most Belldees do not possess, being the gentle creatures they usually are.

Mars earned his mark after successfully chasing away multiple nightmares, including one particularly nasty snake nightmare that nearly burned the Belldandy he was protecting, hence the color and lava-esque shape of the brand.

Nocte.

I chose this name for this particular Belldandy
because the dark gray/black reminded my of the night.

Nocte would be a male.
He would use he,him, and his pronouns.

I clenched my teeth as I felt the magic serge through
my bones- through my soul. I knew what I had done and
though I knew it would cost me trouble, I felt good. I, Nocte,
wouldsoon be the only Belldandy with magic skill. Of course,
it was dark magic and he made deals that would cost him in
the long run, but they would help him succeed.

I was plain before I made my deal. All I was was a plain and
black Belldandy. I hated me. Now, I feel as if I'm on top of
the world. You know, I've always admired magic, maybe
always from afar, but now, I've mastered black magic and run
my own shop. Though my new and actual magic came
with a price. That's my secret though. However, one thing I have
gained are these amazing markings.I know they must mean something.



When I first made my deal, I knew I had done right. As soon
as I made the deal, I could feel the magic seep through me.
Part of me was wonderfully happy, yet the other part, in pain.
To get these gorgeous markings, my body had them burned on,
through magic of course. It was delightfully painful and I hated
it all the same. You asked me what these markings mean?
I'll tell you what they mean.

These markings mean new hope. They mean freedom from my
'old' life. They mean I get a new chance at being me. These
markings make me who I am now. I am no longer 'Nocte the
boring', but Now 'Noctethe irresistible. With these markings came
a new personality, new desires. The wing, it's the grandest of
all my lavish markings. It gives me a rebound from the names I was
called. It gives me feeling and emotionas to who and what I am.
I'm a whole new Belldandy with these markings.
A whole new me.
