Fun little Story about this Belldandy;Ugh. It happened again!
Sparrow came to play. What an odd name!
At least they're just teasing, and not really bullying. Thought the young belldee as he trudged on home from his friend's place. Sparrow, the leopard-print belldee. Give a dog a bad name and hang him, much? Sparrow's name had bothered him for
years. He had never been bullied, but the look on other belldee's faces when he introduced himself was enough. Not to mention whenever he went to play at his friends house their mothers always accented his name as though it was a private inside joke! Hmmph! Oh why had he been called Sparrow? What an awful stupid idea!
Crawling into bed, he began to dream of life with a normal, simple name that
suited him. Oh, he would give anything for that!
A couple days later, his dream came back to him, but not in the way you think.
He was playing at Sprite's place this time, up in a tree (how on earth she managed to get up there and then get him up there was beyond him). She was lovely, and never questioned his name (then again, she never questioned anything. This was both good and bad). They were playing when some other of their friends walked passed and said a pleasant hello. Feeling a little mean (in the playful way), one of their friends called out, "Hey Sparrow! How'd you get up there? Fly?" Sprite forced away a giggle as Sparrow sniffled. But he wasn't crying. He was thinking.
"We're heading down to the Great Waterfall. Wanna join us? It's the biggest and scariest drop there is!" They bounced up and down, before tearing through the forest. Sprite decided she would ignore them and turned back to Sparrow. "We don't have to follow them. I think they're feeling too excitable today."
Sparrow's nose crinkled with determination. "No. No, let's go follow them. I've got a plan. Once and for all, NO ONE will look at Sparrow with contempt! It's time for me to fly!"

That night, the other belldees giggled as they sat by the waterfall, goading each other to jump off. It was a
very long drop, and there were stones at the bottom.
"Hey, come one, grab that vine and jump in!"
"We'll be right behind you!"
"Why don't you go first?"
Most of them had gotten cold feet by now and were more than ready to turn back, but before they could, the silhouette of a Winged Belldandy covered the moon. Spreading it's wings the angel called in a majestic voice; "I shall show you! Once and for all! This sparrow can fly!"
And it jumped.

A few days later, Sparrow was still resting in the roots of a large tree, being tended to by fretting adult belldees. Sprite was sitting with him, looking at him like he was an idiot. Beside her were broken branches and crushed ferns that were his might angel wings.
"Well, you think you proved yourself?" She said scoldingly, but a smirk covered her face. He nodded, neck still stiff and sore. His mates had arrived too, just now and they were looking at him with awe. They just stood there for a moment before one timidly stepped forward and said,
"Nice jump, Sparrow!"

Not once since his mighty leap has Sparrow been hassled by his name again; he will always be known as the belldee who really did live up to his name.
The end!
