Favourite food:
Rudolph likes candy canes, although not for the reason you'd necessarily
expect! As a long-time member of Santa's sleigh team, winner of
reindeer-of-the-month twenty-two times in the row, and self-appointed
Santa's #1 fan, Rudolph is, well, kind of aggressively enthusiastic about
Christmas. Of course his favorite food would be a Christmas food, but his
love for candy canes comes from the fact that they're a super easy way
to spread the Christmas cheer! They can be hung on Christmas trees, fences,
rear-view mirrors of cars, doorknobs and even unsuspecting plumerians to
give them a nice (or annoying, if that's how you see it) holiday surprise.
While he (secretly) doesn't really enjoy the taste of the minty canes,
it's not about the taste- it's about the spirit.





Plumerian he is most annoyed by and why:

First, let me make this clear.

Rudolph isn't just annoyed by this plumerian, he despises them. It's all he can do to be around them, as he
feels they're so horrifically immoral that only the most emotionless or desperate people should ever consent to
tolerate their existence. Funny enough, it's not something this plumi has done, but rather something this
plumi refuses to do that so grinds Rudy's gears.

This plumerian is Igneel.

Take a moment and look at Igneel for a second. He's ancient and has boundless knowledge of the world, feathers
that glow just as bright if not brighter than Rudolph's feathers and nose, the ability to make fire, and wings, for
Santa's sake. All of these are absolute dream traits for a member of Santa's sleigh team, and yet despite Rudolph's
twice-daily requests for him to at least give sleigh-pulling a chance, Igneel refuses. He's too much of a
'noble beast' or whatever to work as a reindeer plumi (doesn't the stupid guy realize that the true noblest beast
is the one that spreads the most kindness?) Not willing to spread the gift of Christmas puts a person at the absolute
bottom of the naughty list in Rudolph's eyes, and he personally can't wait to give Igneel a nice little bundle of coal
this coming Christmas eve.

Admittedly, some of this hatred might stem from Rudolph being more than a little lonely. He's always been an
outcast because of his light-up nose, feathers, and scarily enthusiastic view on Christmas. All in all, he'd really
just like to play reindeer games with somebody who shares some of his glowy traits, even if that person is an
ageless draconic record-keeper. If Igneel would just say yes one day and consent to driving the sleigh, maybe
they could even be good buddies. Maybe.



About the Deer

Rudolph has always lived in a life dominated by the holidays. Growing up within the arctic circle, his family
was there since the moment Santa made the switch from actual reindeer to plumerians driving the sleigh
(due to their intelligence, cuteness and overall Christmas cheer, of course). Even as an undersized, baby ball
of feathers and fluff, Rudolph knew his destiny in the world- to help Santa with his annual toy-delivering journey,
making children happy around the world and navigating the snow with his light-up nose.

Of course, it wasn't as easy as just signing up and taking off, especially for Rudolph- you've heard the song, right?
Rudolph was teased for his nose constantly with insults that burned worse than a cup of hot cocoa straight from
the kettle, although this never deterred him from his goal. What's worse, Rudy was (and still is) significantly
smaller than the average plumerian, resulting in him being generally slower and a little weaker than the rest
of the group. However, Rudy kept at it with a stubborn determination that, while maybe lowering his chances
of the social life he could have had, rose him through the ranks of sleigh training and improved his skills to rival
some of the biggest and baddest plumies at the North Pole.

Needless to say, after years of incredibly hard work, a lot of aggravation and teasing from his classmates, Rudy
got a spot on the sleigh team.

Nowadays, while he works harder than ever and devotes every moment of the year to Christmas planning and
Christmas celebrating, he's still pretty insecure about his job and himself. He's got a bit of an inferiority complex
and is extremely defensive of everything he does, and often takes it out on others without realizing it. He goes
about his ideas of spreading kindness and the Christmas spirit with an almost militaristic attitude, and even takes
it upon himself to help Santa make additions to the naughty list. However, while his heart may seem as frosty as
the snowman at a first glance, part of Christmas is about spreading kindness and Rudy is never harsh to those he
doesn't already believe are being selfish, cold-hearted or scrooges about the holidays. For those that are his friends
he'll even let go of some of his Christmas obsession, unconsciously spreading the caring and love that makes up
the true heart of Christmas cheer.
