Story/Art/Extra(s):tick, tick, tick, was all Clockwork heard. she was in a park she never grew angry with the ticking sounds since she had them all her life. She walked through the park hearing the children play but the ticks were still there, she sighed knowing she was the only one to hear them. she walks into the forest, she was going to meet her friend for a camping trip, of course everything was already set up, after a while she arrived at the camp. She met her friend, Mike, she smiled and waved at him and he waved back. She noticed there was no firewood for that night "Mike why isn't there any firewood?" he looked down and chuckled "i guess i forgot to get it, want to help get some?" he offered, she nods and walked off into the forest to look for some branches that had already fallen off the trees. about 20 minutes in she heard a scream, not just any scream, Mike's scream. She dropped every thing she had in her arms and ran where she heard his scream. When she found him the ticking sound got worse, she shook it off and went over to him she got the large branch off of him and helped him up. "Are you ok?" he nodded "i'm fine" he had lied knowing if she knew the truth she might be in danger. She didn't catch the lie and smiled "good, come on i got enough fire wood to last the night" they both walked back to the camp. For some reason the ticking got worse she kept shrugging it off after a few hours it was midnight, Clockwork had woken up due to a nightmare.she stretched and got out her sleeping bag and out the tent, while about to go for a walk she stepped on a stick which made a loud snap sound which had woken Mike up. he peeked out his tent and saw her, he yawned "Clockwork, why are you awake? where are you going?" he asked sleepily "I had a nightmare and i was going to go for a walk to calm my nerves ." she replied. He nodded and then went back to sleep, she went for a walk she found a river and followed it, she heard footsteps behind her. She looked behind her and saw nothing, she continued walking, before she knew it she was sinking in the water then she realized somebody pushed her in. she tried to swim but couldn't due to never learning how to. the ticking became even louder, before she gave up somebody dove in and saved her when they got on land she coughed and looked at her savior "Mike?" Mike nods "i heard a lot of movement in the water and i went to check out what it was." she smiled and hugged him then let go "thank you for saving me" she stood up and then Mike and her walked to the camp when they reached it the ticking was too much she fell to her knees and grabbed her head pleading for it to stop, when she looked up she saw a figure and Mike, she witnessed Mike get knocked out and the figure came closer when it touched her head she fainted. When she woke up the ticking was gone she began to panic, it was too quiet she noticed she was lost in the woods "MIKE!? MIKE! WHERE ARE YOU!?" she yelled out, no response. she began to wonder around looking for her friend. She was scared and would admit it without any hesitation, she was alone, lost, and the ticking was gone. She was about to give up when she heard Mike yelling her name she smiled "OVER HEAR" she yelled back, after 2 minutes she saw Mike come into view looking worried. "Clockwork! I'm so sorry! i should've told you the truth and this whole thing could've been avoided" she was very confused then it hit her, when he said he was fine he wasn't something pushed the branch down onto him she shook her head "nevermind that let's get out of here!" she said quickly. Mike agreed and they left the forest, to this day on they do not speak of what happened, if you bring it up around Clockwork she will glare and leave. She will never forget that day. When she rarely speaks about it she calls it 'the day the ticking stopped.' THE END
