He has to have his own way and sulks to the lowest depths of hell and back if he doesn't get it, which is cause for concern to those who don't know him, resulting in calls to animal welfare and such, making his poor owner explain that he is not being mistreated or neglected "no no he's just sulking, violently". Jack likes to have the attention on himself, which results in him pushing and shoving other equids out of the way so he can bathe in his owners full attention even if that means getting into trouble because that means he gets to make himself look terribly sad and guilty, in turn melting the poor persons heart.
